Nice I'm about to update the emunand does it matter if mine is still linked when I update? btw I have hardmod and backup.

It shouldn't, as long as you don't screw up the update.
Even so, as long as you have a hardmod and your backups, you really have little to nothing to worry about. ;P

HardMod FTW! I did it just in-case before I started playing with pasta. It's probably the cheapest best thing to do if your messing around with sysnand... Anyway still crossing my fingers during this update.

Yeah, I much prefer to stick with Emunand. Far more forgiving.
Also figured if I did ever manager to screw my N3DS, THEN i'd get it hardmodded / do it myself.

Success Rei 9.5! Thanks! hundshamer was nice enough to make me a guide to do the hardmod if you ever need it. Yeah Reinand with the profile exploit is pretty close to having a gateway.

Dear god....ater 10h of looking at the god damn Cubic Ninja screens Ive finally managed to get the cias to appear on the Reinand.

Edit: Got it working!!!! Oh god what a feeling of an accomplishment after 2 days of constant fiddling with it.

Just one thing thats bothering me a little bit. I cannot launch Reinand from DS profile, it goes in actual ds profile thing. How can I fix this and is there a chance Ill fuck up everything? Casue I really dont have the will power to do it again from start.

Edit 2: Oh and um...do I need to keep blocking the update servers via OpenDNS? Will n3ds update itself withou blocking the addresses?

Did you install the Mset? If so you need to install Reinands ROP using FBI from Sysnand (Ninjhax > Pasta > Ninjhax > FBI > [Select] > Use left / right to change to "Reinand N3DS 4.x MSET" > Press [A])

The 3DS will never update itself. The only reason to block the update servers is to prevent you from getting the update nag (That you can never get rid of in Emunand if you nands are unlinked). The update will never download so long as you don't leave the wifi on while the 3DS is in sleep mode (Powered on with lid closed).

The ROP, no. (FBI)
The Mset, don't really want to keep messing with. One way to confirm that it's installed is go into your System settings & see if you still have the SD management. If you do, you didn't install the Mset, if you don't, you did.

Ok good, means you did install the Mset.cia.
You should only have to install Reinands ROP via FBI or NDS flashcart (if you have one of those)

Yup, once you do that, when you hit Nintendo DS after Profile, it should launch the Reinand splash screen.

Any ideas? my next step will be try and use CN and pasta and run FBI though it and see if the cias can install.

same issue (could not open file)
Also in FBI the File size is correct but the Installed size is 0.00MB

Try installing a different cia. Could have downloaded a bad file, or it may have been corrupted during the download process.
That or you could have a fake mSD.

Edit: Also you need at least twice the space on your mSD as the cia you're trying to install.

ok thanks Im moving over a cia again, Im using the same ones I did on Rxtools on o3ds, strangely enough I was able to get Might Switch force and Mario party installed right after I set up Reinand.

Thanks its installing, two last questions. I'm running reinand 9.0 if I update to 9.5 my cias are safe right? Also whats the best method for siginging into Nintendo Netowrk to play with friends on games such as Mh4? thanks so much btw

Correct
When playing games online (with a cia) all you need is an internet connection & up to date game.

Added: 9.5.0-23 + BBM & how to update on pastebin.

You need to CN > Ninjhax > Pasta > CN > Ninjhax > FBI
*Signatures need to be patched in Sysnand before you can install anything with FBI*

So I'm stuck on this step, and not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's Step 2, where I have to install devmenu.cia from FBI. Every time I try, I get the Install failed/access denied error... I tried what you said a lot of times, and I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

So I launch CN, launch ninjax and get into homebrew. Hold L and then press A on pasta, open options, set FirmLaunch to No, then click Give me pasta. Get back to home screen Launch CN, launch ninjhax, launch fbi, and then click devmenu.cia?

Install failed...

Should I be installing it to NAND or SD? I don't know what else I can do besides follow the steps over and over, but I keep getting the same result.
