  7. Restart the SX OS;
Enjoy!

I wonder if you could build a nsp of devmenu and then use it to install itself, then undo the layeredfs

I bought a few weeks ago a brand new 4.1.0 Switch. Until now I've never get online, updated or run any hack. I don't know what to do. SciresM recommends staying in 4.1.0 or lower for when Atmosphere gets released.
I know SX OS works with 4.1.0, but I don't have any downloaded game or demo, so I cannot use layeredfs, devmenu or download Pokémon Quest. I fear these methods will not work with a newer firmware...
Don't know what to do (besides buying another Switch).

All firmwares are exploitable based on current Switch revisions. SciresM's recommendation is if you don't want to use a jig and USB cable to load Atmosphere. You can update to 5.X but then you lose the ability to load Atmosphere via the unreleased softmod exploit Deja Vu. You also cannot download any games/demos without being on the latest firmware or risk getting banned by using a CDN downloader to download games/demos offline.

Thanks. Just to clarify, I can't use a CDN downloader if my Switch never got online, right? I think I can't download or install any app or game with any method right now with my 4.1.0 Switch. So no Pokemon Quest unless I update my Switch.

CDN downloader involves using your computer to download content from Nintendo. However it carries a high ban risk because you need to use your console's unique certificate meaning Nintendo can track what you are downloading.

Actually, I don't really care very much getting banned. I just want Pokémon Quest on my Nintendo Switch 4.1.0 so I can use devmenu and layeredFS. I can't find any tutorial for a CDN downloader. I don't know how to discover my device ID. Or if I can use a CDN Downloader with my always offline Switch 4.1.0.

That changes a lot of things. So if you're itching to get Pokemon Quest without updating, use this tool: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-exhop-nintendo-switch-title-downloader.508273/
Its a homebrew app that will download Pokemon Quest for you regardless of your current firmware. If you need help setting up the homebrew menu, you can follow this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-hacking-101-how-to-launch-the-homebrew-menu-on-all-fw.504012/
I don't know what Pokemon Quest's Title ID is off the top of my head (its needed for the tool above) but there are many resources that can help you with that.

eXhop does not currently bypass the ticket check, even on SX OS

does this work without LayeredFS?
this is pretty easy if you have all the nsp of the updates and DLC

You can't since installed titles need a personalized ticket in order to be run. You'll notice this if you try installing stuff with DevMenu through WIP Atmosphere and then launching them. SX OS v1.3 has the necessary sig patches in order to prevent the installed titles from asking for the ticket when trying to launch.

Try the method here

This method wont work for 4.1.0, it downloads fine but you must update to verify download, I tried.
There may be workaround in the future, but I updated to latest, because I'm gonna intstall Trinket m0 internally to get coldboot exploit.

It must be in .NSP format, .XCI format is a cartridge and you cannot install a cartridge ;)

The WIP Atmosphere (not Hekate) can do this via DevMenu however the problem is it lacks the signature patching that will allow the installed titles to be launched.

I found it very interesting how the Atmosphere devs kinde hinted / promised at disassembling SX OS code, yet they have not cracked it or put any of these features into the releases..
I know it takes time and I am hoping that SX OS sigpatching & devmenu support will drive them to implement it asap... to spite TX or sth.. x)

Sig patching has many more uses outside of piracy which is kinda surprising it hasn't been implemented yet. Meh, I can wait. Regardless of whether they stole code or can cause a brick, I wouldn't get SX OS because I'd have to pay for it.

No, its not 'cause I'm poor. Defeats the purpose of piracy if I have to pay for it. If I wanted to spend money, I'd just buy the games.
