Why would I want to shutdown the console?
it's on standby in its charging stand since day one. I never switch it off, why would I do that? isn't the console made to stay in the charging stand while playing and while not playing too?

Yep I agree, not sure what the BIG problem w/ this is? As far as I know it's only if you use AutoRCM and the proper way to run that off is to restart and use the hekate payload and chose power off option. I also think after shut down it goes into RCM and holding power down for 15 seconds also does it.

I never power off anyway as then you need to redo CFW anyway. So just leave it on, airplane mode and internet settings deleted.

The problem is for people like me I use different payloads for different reasons. Different CFWs for different reasons. The only way to boot up a different CFW/Payload is to reboot. No one is saying turn it off because it shouldn't be on, or don't get banned or whatever. What we are saying is, little nuisance of huge issue, it's a problem that needs to be fixed and whether or not you turn your system off or whether or not you need to turn it off NOW or later, whenever someone DOES need to turn it off, for whatever reason, this will indeed be a problem that no one needs.

And as confirmed by many others including myself, it's not AutoRCM since many of us do not have that installed and have this issue even while being in the OFW.

EDIT: Also for people, like me, who develop mods for games and need to test and ensure things work properly on it's native hardware. Every issue needs to be fixed and sometimes it's minor and takes a second... Meaning 1 second later, after holding down the power button forever, I would need to do it again. Many many times.

I did a little test for a while and i am using my joycons as an indicator.

OFW:
Hold Power button.
Press Turn Off.
Joycons led turn off.
Press buttons on joycon.
Joycon still can't connect.
Assume switch is off.

CFW:
Payload: Hekate_ctcaer_4.0
Loaded Config: CFW and sysnetcheat
Press Turn Off.
Joycon Still Connected.
Press sync button
Joycon Connects
Switch maybe on.
Note: Pressing home button on joycon after this does nothing.
Switch screen is still off.
Now I have to hold power button for 12-20 sec to turn off.

CFW:
Payload: payloadsx.bin
Hold Power button.
Press Turn Off.
Joycons led turn off.
Press buttons on joycon.
Joycon still can't connect.
Assume switch is off.

Yes. It definitely happens on OFW. I'm curious as to why it did not fr you on OFW. Now IF THIS IS AN AUTORCM ISSUE.... Then it is somehow installing on people's system when we do not want it to or activating itself improperly? Maybe sometimes it happens, sometimes not? But it certainly happens 100% CFW. Seems to happen sometimes, as a previous user states "%50" of the time on OFW. More or less... At this point I'm not sure who to go to in regard to fixing this case. Nintendo for faulty 6.0.0? But does anyone's non-modified 6.0.0 firmware Switch have this issue EVER? Then not them. TX for messing up with their AutoRCM feature? But then if SX does not really have anything to do with your firmware... Then why would it even be affected by the 6.0.0 update? And if it isn't, then why is it suddenly seeming to start now? Perhaps it's ReiNX? Hetake? I can't seem to pinpoint where the problem derives at all... But perhaps one of these softwares have problems with AutoRCM. And perhaps 6.0.0 update has to do with it...

If you just want to reboot quickly and hate long pressing the power button (like I do), use:
EasyPower - quick utility to reboot the Switch
Just load this homebrew and your Switch instantly reboots.

When I want to load a different payload, I just load this, and then stick in my SX pro dongle and hold vol+, and choose the new payload in the SX bootmenu. Easy as pie, thanks to AutoRCM.

NOW, if your reason for turning off the Switch is not that, but instead, you are have OCD about leaving it in sleep mode, and instead want to turn it off "just cause":
- use EasyPower, then inject Hekate and power off from there, to be 100% sure.
I personally leave my Switch in sleep mode, always docked when unused, so I never have any problems.

Oh wow! I saw that on the App Store (Back in the early days. I just used it once to browse to see what kinds of things were there and never used it since so I completely forgot that application exists.) and was like "Why would anyone go to home, load up an application to turn it off? That is FAR longer than just holding it for like 4 seconds and pressing OFF..." .... Of course that was BEFORE it was bumped up t o12 seconds and this problem exists. As for now, good temporary fix... I hardly ever turn off my Nintendo Switch unless I need it off for whatever reason. (What I said about turning it off is all true. I just personally don't care much about my battery but it doesn't hurt to suggest better practices to others.) So it's always in sleep when not using. Now it's off though because I know the next time I use it will be removing the SD card anyway. Thanks for reminding me about what I originally thought was "A useless software unless somehow your power button's hardware broke...???"

I found one temporary solution to properly shutdown the unit. Use the reinx toolkit. The shutdown selection does its' job

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
