hi guys , am well stuck here , any advice & comments welcome

i got my buffallo drivestation formatted back to fat32 for use with new cfgloader
converted all my games from previous wbfs drive to new wbfs file

but when i try to transfer the games on to the newly formatted fat32 drive windows reports estimated time like 11 hours to copy just 1 image ??

i have read the various spiel regarding fat32 & large drives , some suggesting i should only have 32gb partitions

not quite sure wot to do next

thanks in advance

btw - im running windowx 7 x64 (if that helps)

Maybe the drive connected is in USB1 mode or something?
Or your system got confused, try rebooting, this usually helps with windows

The size is not really an issue. I have a 200GB fat partition and it works fine.
(I'm on windows vista 32bit)

do you think this may be an issue with x64 win7 ?

just a point - i tried reformatting drive with several tools to fat32 in all cases the transfer speed between my internal drive and ext usb is pants , i mean realy slow like less that 800k per second

so i tried reformatting to ntfs - drive speeds back to normal 4gb file less than a minute !

think im gonna return to wbfs drive , i dunno wot else to do

I use x64 Win7 and had no problems transferring to my drive (WD 320GB).

Which cluster size did you choose when you formatted? Smaller clusters will take longer to transfer.

somewhere along the way it seems my usb hardrive has gotten corrupted
frown.gif

after hours of fekkin around with it this afternoon , i finally managed to get a working fat partition of 200gb
leaving a 300gb ntfs partition

accidently i deleted the ntfs partition (with all the wii wbfs files) ouch

lucky for me i have all the disks as this was purely an idiot proof way for my kids to boot whatever games they wanted without changing disks all the time ,

thing is , i feel like the idiot now ! messing around with things that wernt broke

lesson learned .........
