Since all backup files (xci extract) are always an hexa fixed size (2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB etc ...) which may be related to the cartridge size, i think every backup file contain trash datas like was wii game in time (01010101 at end of file to fill blank space).

Is there a way to remove this trash binaries to save disk space with backups ?

Long answer short:
There's no way yet. We don't know if it will be possible.

Instead of trimming the dumps, I would love to see a compressed XCI, like the CSO from the PSP days. But, that's impossible now. *sigh*

Sounds like a good idea. Even the lightest compression (regarding cpu usage), would drastically reduce/remove unused sectors,
while leaving the image itself untouched.
