I started playing DQ 5 on desume but I wanna play it on my 2DS so I hacked it. I can load the game up, but I can't get my safe file to come up. Where do the save files for this program go? I've tried putting in a few different places but it doesn't register. I already put it in the same folder as the rom. It's a .sav file also.

where the rom is, iirc, it goes in a separate folder in that folder, and the folder is named saves.

It's in a rom folder that located in the root of the sd card. I put it in a folder like that called saves but that didn't work.. idk why

you may have to hex edit the save if it's not compatible. make a new save in twilight menu, then compare each save. it should be relatively easy to do. I managed to get saves working from my supercard to the wii u, but I had to delete a lot of padding. the save didn't work otherwise.

is there a tutorial on how to hexedit?

not for something like this, you just have to hex compare both files. there could be a header or footer causing the save not to work. for example, when you create an mcr of a psx save, it adds the file name in the header, because the filename is not in a psx save. psx memory cards contain 16 blocks with the first being a toc with filenames and information. it's a difference of a kilobyte, but you can extract the save from one very easily.
