Looks good.

Hmm...so, since it's using the Snake Eater name, I'm assuming it's going with the original camera system, which would make sense without another thumb stick. But I'm not sure I can go back after Subsistence and MGS4's camera. Still a real boon for any handheld gamer who doesn't mind the old camera system.

I immediately smiled and went 'BAWWWW' when I heard Yoshi.

I'm really not into stealth games, so I've never been into MGS. I'll take a look at it, and if there's nothing else out when it comes out, I might get it. It does look good, and I think taking pictures for camouflage is really cool, too. I wonder if it'll actually affect game play, or if it's just for giggles. Still looks cool.

The camo is important. Different camo lowers your visibility based on which type of environment you are in (for example, wood camo would make you less visible when leaning on a tree).

wtf @ yoshi.

On the ps2 version there was a sidequest of shooting all the "green frogs" in each area of the game. if you got them all
it unlocked steatlh camo
Im assuming they replaced them with yoshi which is a hilariously awesome idea!

On topic: it looks REALLY good and i love this game! Iv played it to death on ps2 but id be more than happy to re-play it on the 3DS and that photo-camo thing would be so much more useful than changing camo in the menu. I will be getting this.

@machomuu
Oh no I get that - I've played Peace Walker and MGS4 - I was just never into it. What I meant was if the picture camo would have like, a bottom line viability effect (like say, 80% hidden, no matter what the picture is), or if the game would process and determine what the camo effect is based on the picture. It just seems like a lot of extra effort to perform the latter - not that it wouldn't be awesome or anything.

Sooo getting this! Some reason when Big Boss took off his mask, in my head went "such a boss" lol

Is it just me or the music reminds me of Ghost Recon?

Actually I think it's reminiscent of Twin Snakes where you could find and shoot a small figure of both Mario and Yoshi.

Not gonna judge TOO harshly, since it is a 3DS game and we can't experience the 3D effect first hand here but...

...graphically, what the trailer showed looks terrible compared to the PS2 version. Also, I thought there were supposed to be tons of new features, scenes, gameplay types, as shown in the trailer from last year... Everything shown in this trailer is shot-for-shot exactly the same as the original PS2 title (save for Yoshi, lol).

The yoshi at the end caught me off-guard.

Buy anyway, this game looks fantastic. It still amazes me we can have Gamecube level graphics on a handheld only ten years later.

You want them to change the opening? That's a god damn famous opening. This trailer is supposed to generate nostalgia to the original game, then adds a twist at the end. This confirms or denies nothing about the game content.

the game isnt even that old

I agree with Martin, its the same exact thing
the camo picture feature is more then a novelty then anything, I doubt it will work good in the game

What are you talking about? It looks as good if not better.

(from the very little we can see.)

So, is it terrible compared to PS2, or is it identical ?

Trailers DO NOT tell you the game's graphics at all.

Look at this example:

Look at 1:50 (Ridge Racer 3D)... It looks utterly horrible.

BUT, look at this now (the actual game)

Many might say it still looks horrible, but compare it to the trailer...

So, I'd rather wait for the actual thing.

I'm not one to really care about graphics all that much, but it looks absolutely stunning in the gameplay vid.
