works fine for me moved everything to new firmware and then it plays normal with 3 badges no freezing what so ever and i played whole day

however d.i.y did not work even when i deleted the 512kb sav and i wont format because theres over 2gb worth of things id have to put on comp and back on sd card thats a hassle i just cant do atm so diy was deleted

Strange Journey works great. Warioware D.I.Y. however, does not. It doesn't save

yea, but you already had all 16 badges BEFORE 4.8X got released. It's different than someone starting a new game under 4.8X, which supposedly fixes the problem

No it's not. If anything his game's "symptoms" would be worse.
that would only be the case if the "symptoms" are consistent for all the players. In this case, the time between freezes and frequency of it vary between different players, even below 4.8X, so finishing the game before 4.8x doesn't really witness that 4.8X "fixes" the problem

Hmm... During the 4.7 Firmware, I was playing for about an hour straight and no freezes. After Mr. Pokemon, it started freezing after each 15 mins. Now that I updated to 4.8, I was just at the Rival Battle and played all the way till Violet City while loafing a bit by visiting buildings etc and I hadn't freeze since. Now I'm in bellsprout tower.

Or it's just that the number of events required are so high that it just seems random, when it's only little things that rack up, making it seem like it's varies.

Plus, who knows? Maybe this is just a microsd compatibility problem. I have had not 1 freeze on HGSS so far.

I played SS for exactly 1:31 (that's hours:minutes). No freezes whatsoever.

The only thing that's still not working is DIY, which is really bad. I was really looking forward to it.

Don't use escape rope at the top. That's what made my game freeze, with the update. Altough I didn't try leaving the tower by foot, yet.

I'm not sure what's the point of people bragging about playing for hours straight with no freezes and not even trying to explain why *that* could be. No mention of the firmware their using (one can guess it's 4.8 but...), no mention of the SDCard brand, no mention about ever having freezes with other firmwares, etc. They just say "Not a freeze after millions of hours of play". So I think they're either trolling or are simply not caring about the people who still have freezes.
Let's try to be more helpful to everyone?

Oh gee, on the 4.8 update thread, people have to actually say what update they're using? Common sense bro. If you think we're trolling, whatever its your problem. I know I haven't had a single freeze. MicroSD: 4GB Sandisk Class 2.

Well, anyone can play without freeze for hours, assuming that the does not invoke any events, of course. So, players saying they do not have any freezes could be a little more precise about how far they are in game and such. I think I can now rule out my theory that solely the badges will prevent freezes. Having started a new game and using a cheat to get 16 badges, it still froze in a trainer battle.

On a side note, the M3 team is aware of the continuing problem and working on it: http://www.m3iforum.com/index.php?topic=37...&#post-2136

I'm just going to bust out with it..

You got people here mentioning that the title screen of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey freezes for everyone, well it doesnt freeze for me. I can run the entire intro from beginning to end with no issue on 4.8 (duh)

I'm not really some pokeyourmom soul silver luva.. but you are getting the exact same reports with pkmn.. Freezes or doesn't, you got people with post counts in excess of 2600+ stating it works for them, "think about it".. so try this.. ::

Take a 4 gig transcend class six. Fresh format it, now go chuck system folder and single rom in -only-.. Now go play, I wager you it wont freeze..

Why? Because I'm not experiencing the issues other people mention with the title screen of strange journey.. I'm not interested in proving it myself, can't be bothered, what I'm saying is.. Just go do it, and check it out for yourself.

peace.

How helpful of you. Though by your logic, shouldn't you be ignored because of that 1 post?

I've used two different mSDs, both reformatted, started a fresh game and used my old .sav, and still experienced intermittent freezes in HG. I also got a SMT freeze during the intro cutscene, though i managed to get past it and have no problems since. Your experience, and that of a select few others, does not necessarily have to be the end all/be all of what is.

So, excuse me if I'm asking the obvious: there is NOT (yet) a version of the firmware that includes Sakura, right? If we want to play, say, Strange Journey, we have to launch through Touchpod?

thanks,
S

there is. I think just today in fact, they released 1.47x sakura. It has the same stuff as 4.8x touchpod. You can get the dual boot at the quad boot sticky on the second post

According to support at M3 forums Sakura 1.47x has been modified to support Warioware DIY. The download of 4.8x should also have been updated.
