Hi all, bought a Tears of the Kingdom Pro Controller secondhand for €27.50 and spent a few hours running through authenticity checks. Here’s everything I found:
Checks that passed:
• MAC address: 48:31:77:7A:85
B — confirmed Nintendo-registered OUI
• Body color: #2D2D2D, Buttons: #E6E6E6 — matches known TOTK values
• Left grip: #464646, Right grip: #FFFFFF — matches known TOTK values
• Controller icon on Switch shows correct asymmetric grip colors
• Firmware update completed successfully (FW 4.21)
• NFC/amiibo works instantly and correctly
• Gyro feels solid and responsive
• HAC-013, support.nintendo.com, Kyoto 601-8501 Japan, all regulatory marks present and correct
• Weight: 248g (reference genuine Pro Controller: 251g)
• Physical appearance matches genuine TOTK controller
Remaining doubts:
• Serial shows “Not supported” in jc-toolkit AND blank in Switch system menu (System > Serial Information) — this is the main concern
• Rumble feels slightly muted compared to another genuine Pro Controller I own. I’m told that its harder to fake nuanced rumble then loud non-hd rumble so idk lol
• Subtle stick feel difference, though could be wear or just me being very sensitive to the placebo effect. I get that alot with these subjective things
• Price was quite low, bought from a dude on a marketplace sort of site (€27,50 ex shipping). Guy is just a normal person but sells more stuff (like wii u games and such, deleted the post when it arrived so he didnt sell them routinely)
SPI dump is attached. Can anyone check whether the dump looks like genuine Nintendo factory output, and specifically whether the serial address is zeroed out or contains something?
Thanks alot in advance!
