MSRP of $250USD sounds about right. same price as the original Wii, same price as Natal... I mean Kinect >.>

Kinect is $150. And it is cheaper than buying 4 wii remotes and nunchucks. You know what's truly a ripoff? PS Move. You need 8 controllers (2 for each person), plus 4 nunchuk thingys.
it should be noted that kinect can only track 2 people at once so its only a 2 player experience

now the ps move controllers are priced $10 above each of nintendo controllers
PS Move Controller - $50
Wii Controller - $40

PS Move Navigation - $30
Wii Nunchuck - $20

PS Eye - $40
but also, this is without motion plus which will add $20 to every wii controller

the damage is about $50 more for the ps move with 4 players (this included the optional navigation controller as well as motion pluses for every wii controller)
now who the heck is gonna buy 4 controllers, I have no idea
I dont even know people with more then 2 sets of wii controllers

I'm Canadian.
That's nice, but I was quoting joelozy, an American.

Well I'm Uruguayan and the DSLite is around US$300. Imagine the 3DS

199.99 GBP is the limit for me, ok if it's 219.99 then ok but anything more Im better off buying a stealthbox.

If I recall correctly the PSP Go was launched at $250 in america and even right now in UK a standalone model is 224.99 GBP. I don't think nintendo want to make that kind of mistake.

Infact what the price of the Go in america?

$250, but a couple online retailers are selling it for $220 now (including amazon), with 3 specific games- Still, there was a Sony-recognized failure statement before that happened.

here in sweden the cheapest pre-order i have found (on a website that always have better prices than the local gamestop) they sell it for 2495 SEK (331,14 USD)
I think it's worth it since it's almost like a portable Wii with 3D effects :=)

I think that they will keep the old DS lites and Dsis, but lower the price. After all, the DS Lite has been $129 for like 5 years now. It's about time it got a price cut. The prices should be like this:

DS Lite $99 (they lowered GBA SP from $99 to 79 when the DS came out)

DSi $139

DSi XL $169 (to the old DSi price)

3DS $199

No one will buy a handheld game console for $250. Look at the PSP Go. It was a complete failure.
DSi in the UK has hit £99 which was the original price of the DS and DS Lite. The DSi launched for £150, £179.99 is the price of the wii when it launched now it's £164.99. Now by doing a few calculations

United States US$249.99 $249.99
United Kingdom GB£179 $350 ($300 no tax)

Around 2006 the £ to $ was around 1.8, now it's 1.55, I assume when the 3DS launches it could be at 1.67.

Now then these are what we need to consider: 3DS is next gen, it's reasonable to be more expensive than the home console. However yet again, it's a handheld device.

Nintendo's plan could possibly be to retail near Wii launch prices, It could cost £164.99 in UK meaning the exact price of the wii. Or it could hit £184.99/194.99 depending how far they're going from the wii's launch price £15 either way is more plausable.

So in USD it could be $200 or be more than $250. The price range I believe is wii's current price - slightly over the wii's launch price. So it could be $200, $225, $250 or $275. For the £ Im working in 15s with the US$ Im doing it with 25s

EDIT: Hmm maybe Nintendo would release it on a 15th and 25th in respective countries.

I've just checked the calender, 15th of October is Friday and the 25th is a Monday, Friday is game release day in Europe and Monday often is for America, sometimes it's a Sunday.

Remember this is just speculation, there's alot of meaning behind numbers.

Part of the reason overseas prices on gaming stuff (hell anything imported into the country) is due to a combination of VAT(value added taxes), tariffs on inbound items, and also I'm sure a little bit of local intentional gouging by the retail chains colluding on costs too.

As long as they have previews of it where I can see the 3d first hand, I don't care what the price is.

The only thing Nintendo said is that it would cost more than the DS at release which was 199$. So to anyone thing it will be 200$, forget it, it's going to be higher than that.

As for me, not buying it until there is a flashcart that allow me to pirate games.

You sure? the DS at launch over here was £99, and nintendo often make us spend more than what the US customers pay, like when the DSi launched it was £150 here and apparently in America it launced for $169.99. Now tell me is that a small difference or what?

The UK marketing manager said this:
"Price, we haven't made any kind of announcement at the moment, but the Nintendo DSi is available for around £129.99. The Nintendo DSi XL, with the larger screens, is around £159.99. So obviously, it's going to fit, kind of, somewhere within that kind of architecture."

It's speculated be between the price of DSi and DSi XL. Now knowing nintendo they like to rip us off, so if it's this price they proabably selling it near 200. Right right now the DSi XL is £20 away from the wii launch price, £20 = $30.

Also your lame

, Not gonna buy a system because it can't be pirated, with that attitude the PS3 would never have sold.

The PSP Go situation was different. It offered nothing new, and even took away stuff (UMD, smaller screen), plus it was digital download only. Tack on a ridiculous pricetag and you have failure.
