I'm playing the Japanese Wii U version now, it seems like Chapter 2 had a lot of stuff censored. It'll probably be difficult to convert all those uncensored assets from the Japanese Wii U version to Switch. We're talking about the artwork in the entire dungeon got changed, dialog changes, character poses, animations. It's unlikely we'll see an completely uncensored patch for the Switch version.

Has there been any progress? It seems people gave up on this release rather quickly. As long as it stays this way, even with the lack of new content, the WiiU version is still the superior one.

No way!

Can it work on real switch hardware or emulator only?
Apparently so, but of course, it's via ROMFS, or rather, by installing mods on the Switch. You can't patch the ROM directly because the patch won't work due to a minimal difference. It could be different because of the extraction method; I couldn't say for sure, maybe the extractor version or something like that. But one user tried with their ROM and couldn't because of a 1 MB difference. The point is, if you know how to install mods, it can be done.

I got it to work on my switch with the patched nsp but it took a while to figure out. I extracted the 'pack_000_map.cpk' file using DBI. Then I patched that file and the nsp. The patched pack_000 file was over 4gb so I compressed it into a zip file. Put it the atmosphere -> contents folder and had to extract it on the switch using DBI. I was able to install the patched nsp normally with no problems.

Speaking of that, I actually updated it; there's no need to patch the ROM anymore. I even compressed the map file, so now it weighs 3 GB when applied.

How about other files? I saw they are large as well does this mean the mod on switch would be over 6GB in total?
how did you patched the nsp?

I just changed it; it takes me too long to make those patches. Besides, I'm going to keep updating them, which is better because you only have to change one file. If, for example, I want to change the interface, I don't have to recreate the NSP file to do it, and it didn't work for everyone. I uploaded that method first, but that happened. So the mod is 9 GB in total, but it's in 6 files, and they're less than 4 GB each; the largest one is 3 GB.

Don't tell me the world's going to end over 9 GB, right? I understand it's for the Switch and what you want, and that's fine, but this mod hasn't been released for the Switch in a long time, 5 to 6 years. Can't you make that sacrifice? Besides, I haven't even added the Hot Springs DLC yet. If you want that content, I'd have to get the original ROM again and patch it, because I simply don't have the space for multiple ROMs. I have a basic laptop. Or you can create your own NSP file by replacing the files I provided.

Thanks a lot for the hard work ! Can you help me understand how to apply the patch to play on my modded Switch please ?
Okay, the tutorial is there. You just need to extract the internal files with Yuzu or Ryujinx—that is, dump the ROM—and from those files, select the ones you need, which are on the list (in English, by the way). Patch those files, and then apply them via ROMFS in an emulator. On a real switch, it's like applying a mod.

OK so for real hardware I need to patch the files extracted from the rom and then put them in the appropriate "contents" subfolder of the SD card, right ? Just to be sure

That sounds like it would work, at least in theory. Let us know when you try it and how it goes.

I just tried and now the game crashes on startup. What I did was :
- extract the files within the NSP using Yuzu ;
- patch the individual files as explained (I used the fat32 patch for the 000_map file) ;
- copy the patched files in atmosphere/contents/0100A9400C9C2000/romfs on the SD card.

I only put the patched files in there, I saw no point in copying the unpatched files as well, if that helps.
