I just tried and now the game crashes on startup. What I did was :
- extract the files within the NSP using Yuzu ;
- patch the individual files as explained (I used the fat32 patch for the 000_map file) ;
- copy the patched files in atmosphere/contents/0100A9400C9C2000/romfs on the SD card.
I only put the patched files in there, I saw no point in copying the unpatched files as well, if that helps.
You need to re-do everything as an .nsp basically the whole game again with the patch, it's tedious but it's the only way (unless someone already did it and share the game already patched, which here is not allowed but outside pages yes)

Actually, the way Ligeia did it should (with tweaking) work, as far as I know. Yes, you can also make your own NSP, but you should be able to use this like a mod with LayeredFS as well.
@Ligeia What version/branch of Yuzu did you use? What versions of Atmosphere, Horizon, etc.? I just downloaded a copy of Eden on my laptop so I am going to try and get this working on my Switch OLED as a mod.

Did you install the pack? Because someone else got it working without any problems. Either the problem is with the location, or it's the map.cpk file. Try deleting it. But if the map patch was applied, then there shouldn't be any problem.

If the game doesn't work as a mod on an emulator, then it won't work on real hardware, and recreating the NSP file won't help. I already tried it before; I installed something incorrectly, thinking it would work, but it didn't—the game wouldn't even open.

I got yuzu 1734 (2024.03.04)
My Switch firmware is v21.1.0 and Atmosphere is v1.10.1
I used Delta Patcher 3.1.6
My game release is Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE Encore NSW-CAF [0100A9400C9C2000]
I did put the patched files in 0100A9400C9C2000\romfs\Pack, what do you mean by "did you install the pack please ? I patched the files as intructed and just copied them there, did I miss a step ?

Well, based on what I know, there are three possibilities: First, the files must be in this location: 0100A9400C9C2000\romfs\Pack. Second, the map file might not be working. I couldn't give you a reason because I tested it and it works; in fact, it always does, even the FAT32 version, which is just the compressed file, reduced from 6 to 3GB. Third, it could be your console's mod configuration, and well, I can't help you with that.

And finally, you can rebuild your ROM, although I stopped using that method of patching the ROM because it's annoying, and just to update a small file I'd have to rebuild my ROM again.
I'll soon release an update that unlocks the swimsuit DLC, but of course, if you have a modified ROM, I'd have to rebuild it again, replacing the updated CPK files.

Besides, you're the first one to say you have that problem. Well, at least there's no one else besides the guy who contacted me, and his problem was that his ROM was 1 MB different, and the patch said it was a different file.
Question. I managed to extract all the needed files and patched them accordingly. I even tried it on Ryujinx and everything seems to work just fine. However, my "pack_000_map.cpk" file ended up being over 6GB after patching. I want to play on real hardware and my micro SD is formatted as "FAT32" so there's no way I'll be able to transfer that file over. I read you mentioned a "compressed" FAT32 version that's only 3GB. How would I go around compressing mine or patching it so that's only 3GB?
No, what I mean is the "romfs" folder has a 6GB file I can't transfer because the card is formatted as FAT32. I can't install it by MTP it's a mod. There WAS a FAT32 patch on the readme but the link is down atm.
Speaking of @Gaprelrose , any chance you could reupload the pack_000_map FAT32 patch again, please?
What the hell is this reasoning? You have some big misunderstanding how everything works.
Just do what I said. Don't question it because you don't even know what you are talking about.

And if you want to know more how this is possible, read about file concatenation via archive bits supported by HOS which is used to avoid 4GB FAT32 limitation. This is done automatically by every MTP client out there.

I'm actually working on that right now; the file got taken down, so I'm compressing it again. I'm also going to update it today or tomorrow to unlock the swimsuit DLC content, so you'd be better off not using that file—it's an older version. If you do use it, the game will crash when you view the DLC.
Thank you @Gaprelrose for the uncensor patch, it worked flawlessly on my modded switch using @Ligeia's method and putting it on romfs folder, it's a 9gb increase in size but totally worth it

Also forgot to mention Hot Springs DLC and costumes/wardrobe is also working as well

@Gaprelrose the mod works but Tsubasa's buzzcut got uncensored as well lmao
Tested it on Ryujinx and my modded switch but Tsubasa's hair becomes transparent

I found a fix (kinda lol)
I just need to wear Tsubasa's glasses on System > Settings, then the hair is back lol

@Gaprelrose Encountered another bug when playing along story
First picture, After boss fight the voice audio disappears when Horinozawa appears then the music audio disappears
After that it's eternal loading loop like on the second picture and is just stuck there
I attached my JSKV save file so can you can test if the only issue is on my end or it conflicts with the mod?

The problem with this game isn't just the visual censorship, but also the sheer volume of text. It's not just the whole chapter about gravure modeling, but also a ton of other lines, character profiles, and so on. The previous uncensor patch for the Wii U fixed a lot of this, but it still wasn't perfect.
I took that into account as well; in fact, there were things in the uncensored version that were missing, so I incorporated them into my version. In any case, if anything is missing, let me know—it would just be a matter of changing the text, since I based my work on a changelist from the Wii U version.
