Hacking To update or not...

Hi!

Just got a new 3DS XL, it came with 3.1.0-6E firmware.
Then I noticed I cannot go to e-shop if I don't update it..

Would it be worth to update to 4.5.0-10 ?
I would like to play some SNES games too, so I would need to get R4.

Would this R4 Gold work if I do upgrade? Image1 / Image2

Or if not, would this red R4 card work? Image1 / Image2

for SNES DO NOT GET a R4

get the supercard DS two

that DO NOT UPDATE the 3ds TILL YOU update your flash card

Get r4ids.cn R4iGold, not that POS.

And wait till your card arrives and update the cards bootloader before you update the 3ds.

Or get the DStwo like the above dude said, but its a little pricier.

So which would universally work better, the supercard, of the R4iGold? Any noticeable differences between those two?

apparently only the DSTwo comes with a working SNES and GBA emulator. I got mine a week ago and I'm loving it. 999 being the best handheld game I've played for a while made it absolutely worth it.
