i think i tried to touch on that on page oneHaving a "well organized" thread in GBATemp is almost impossible
what are you all talking about?
i only use blarg
a nes fcemu port and gme yob
on both O3ds and N3ds as CIA's on both and they run exactly the same and i thought retroarc was not in any useable condition yet on either
I'm just saying that in the end of the day, it will depend on each person to read and pay attention to what's important to them, be it here in this thread or on any of the other ones. Reading comprehension is the most important requirement.
There's 1000+ threads where you can ask for help, so that's why I consider that first one needs to read and only then ask.
Btw.. I think we should stop here or otherwise we're just ruining the thread as well with this talk, which isn't bad comparing to many others but still kinda off-topic. lol
Some cores can be used
It's better to be intimidating. If we're too welcoming, we get people that just keep asking for help. Homebrew is fairly niche and generally requires some leg work with some basic knowledge of the inner workings of different hardware, at least in the early stages, which the 3DS is still in the somewhat early stages. By turning people off to it, it will save them a headache in the long run and possible bricking (depending on the console). Not saying people shouldn't get into homebrew, but if they can't use the forums' simple search function, then it's probably a better idea they just forget about it all together.Well, not entirely off topic since we're talking about the purpose of the thread. I'll stop here anyway and my next post will come with the results of some testing.
Anyway, about my answer. The problem here is that a forum can be pretty intimidating, even being as used to them as i am (i'm 31, and i've been posting in forums since my teen years) i still get easily lost. The spanish forum i mentioned earlier, elotrolado, is the real definition of huge fucking mess, moreso in the 3DS homebrew section. It also doesn't help to asking here about O3DS and get someone telling you to buy a N3DS as an answer. That's why i plan to support this thread with all i can do.
Ok... end of the off topic from here on. Thanks for the conversation![]()
nxEngine runs at full speed on o3DS! GameYob is full speed, too! blargSnes is full seed(on most games), but has VERY low compatibility. FCEUMM3DS runs alright, I guess. So does the QuickNES retroarch core. CitrAGB runs full speed on most games, and GBA VC injection is a pain but runs perfectly, obviously. 3dssms runs well, and so does the Genesis Plus GX RetroArch core. Spectre3DS is very entertaining, so is Whack Mania.
I am using a 2DS(equivalent to o3DS) for these, by the way.
i thought this was a giveawayyou should specify firmware version (kernel access or not)
edit: if you know how to inject without kernel please let me knowand GBA VC injection is a pain but runs perfectly
You need arm9 kernel to inject, afaik. If you ae below 9.3 you can use PastaCFW/FBI to install GBA VC .cias from that iso site, or inject the gba roms into a cia yourself, but that takes a lot of time. Above 9.2 o3DS isn't going to have playable GBA emulation, but if you are below 9.3, CitrAGB runs great on o3DS if you don't want to use VC injection.i thought this was a giveaway

2nd edit: its true that i guess that a noob would not know the difference (no offence)
(have ran before this Mario kart mario rpg ran perfect )
Wait, something's not right here.
Super Mario Kart is pure Mode 7, even if it ran on BlargSNES (wich i haven't tested and the compatibility wiki denies) it wouldn't absolutely run right. I mean, even in Super Mario World Mode 7 effects are almost completely lost (see the green blobs from the second ghost house or the pixelation effect while entering doors)
Super Mario RPG directly uses the SA1, a special chip. Those are not supported by BlargSNES. I think even cafsfc has issues with games that uses certain chips.
i looked at the post. i looked at the sig. i rotfl (true story)Don't forget about us DS Lite users! (Upgrading hardware is inevitable)
Why is there no GBA emulator for the GBC if there is one for the PSP! No fair!Don't forget about us DS Lite users! (Upgrading hardware is inevitable)
Nice memei looked at the post. i looked at the sig. i rotfl (true story)
