Story

For ages, there has always been a protector that served the land, seeing to it that evil forces would never overrun the land. With each century came a new hero, and with a new hero came the duty to pass down the sacred clothing to him. The legendary green tunic and hat, the iconic clothing piece of the heroes, was forged from the Threads of Despair. The Threads of Despair are more than just simple threads, as it grants the hero wearing it the ability to overcome any obstacle with more ease than the average person. However, with anything great, there must be something terrible. If evil forces were to wear a piece of clothing made from the Threads of Despair, their sinister powers would heighten, leading to total control of the world. These threads, the Threads of Despair, have been stolen from Caleron Castle, and must be retrieved before any evil ones have a chance to utilize their powers.

Updates

  • Added Epona, as well as Epona's Song (I replaced the Cyclone song). Added stables where you can leave Epona. If Epona is not in a stable, and you leave a room she is in, she will go away, and you will have to play Epona's song again. If she is in a stable, she will stay there, however, Epona's Song will not with her in a stable. There is only one stable so far, which is at Link's house. In future updates, if you leave Epona in certain stables over time, different events/changes can happen, such as upgrades to Epona, attempted theft of Epona, etc. Also, you only get on and off Epona if you aren't moving.
  • Fixed up some glitches/errors

Controls

Arrow Keys - Move Link/Epona, move through menu selections, aim the bow/hookshot
Z - Action/Talk/Read/Play Gemshorn
X - Sword/Close Textbox/Close Gemshorn box/Get off Epona
C - Use selected item/Scroll to end of text
WASD - Item Hotkeys/Select items from inventory/Play Gemshorn
Enter - Pause/Inventory
Q - Go to the pause menu to the left
E - Go to the pause menu to the right

Hey this looks cool, with some polish it could be a pretty good game. Hope you keep at it. Game Maker games are fun to make (I've used it back when 5.3 was the newest!)
