First off, if the site contains any downloads for cIOS, that site is NOT allowed here
Second, they say 'discs' read at 6x speed, not 'backups'

Softmods alter cIOS files? Uploading of IOS files and cIOS files is illegal. Well, what's a softmod for you? A loader like Gamma or SoftChip, doesn't install or change anything, it just runs an IOS or cIOS and starts games, that's it. And cIOS installers download nintendo's IOS from nintendo's servers or take the IOS from sd card*, modify it and install it.

*And you can get the IOS files legally by dumping them from an original disc with wufe.

I hope you understand now better why Gamma and the cIOS can be legal in your country, while all downloads of IOS and cIOS files directly are illegal in most countries.

Now that I've been forced to think about it, what you say makes perfect sense.
I was running the whole downgrade and loader install together in my head.

Thanks for setting me right. I'll have a look in a minute and see if there are actually any CIOS included. Will delete link if there is.

Oh sorry the most recent backup launcher version is the 0.3 gamma with 002fix
