The last few days around the bad weather worked out better than it should, a weird run of quite a few freebies too due to issues. Last Thursday it started, I've gotten to be friends with a couple retail store spots who run an area or are the manager, as such that day I got that pokemon gold and paperboy free since they were duds. Gold was crusty and rust on the board around the big chip on the lower right but I was able to clean and repair it all, was lazy and didn't yet replace the battery but it works, and Paperboy needed a near abusive level of cleaning but it works too. In turn (was going to likely anyway) bought Blaster Master there for 10 before leaving.

On the weekend Saturday turned up some $3 GB manuals, but also a couple of $12 GBA games and $5 on Qix, and if you know, one of those games was a win. Sunday the freebie rager continued, the manager of a store I visit remembered I liked parts and trying to fix stuff, and gave me that NES and SNES. NES was just super finicky and blinky, the SNES has a 1/2 cracked off power port and both were pretty brown as this is a cleaned up shot. A couple of retirees were there and taking stuff in, I gave a better offer on the N64 (didn't check inside the top door at the time) and took the N64 (game, exp pack, power) for just $30. I went across the way and got the controller for 7 at another store.

I keep and hoard spare cables, power supplies and controllers in case of situations like this. Already completed all the 3 systems (and another NES I already had bundled up too.) I ordered parts, both NES systems have wavey bands of lines in the screen so the caps are shot in the power area as it's not the ac adapters and was bad on a modern and old color monitor too so it wasn't the tv. SNES works as is, just wobbly, so I ordered a replacement part for the jack with the caps.

A local online hobby store (it's an online-only store that operates within my city) is having a Canada Day sale right now for 16.49% off. It's a weird number, but it was for people who were subscribed to or watched his YouTube channel. So, I bought two Gunpla kits: the HGUC Xi Gundam (Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe version) and the MG Build Fighter Strike Full Package.

I decided to take advantage of the sale to buy the MG as part of my nephew's Christmas present.

I also ordered a Hasegawa F-16D Fighting Falcon 1/72 model kit from another store. From the same store, I also got 3 paint markers: an AK QUICK marker in orange, an AK Real Color orange RAL 2004, and an AK Real Color RAF Cockpit Grey-Green.

I'm sure I'll probably order some more when the hobby store sends out their newsletter later today (it's almost 3 AM right now).

Nice little upgrade before prices get even worse and the PS6 is inevitably delayed.
It sucks that the PS5 Pro doesn't come with a disc drive by default. And now taking the PS5 Pro into account it's disc-less, it's safe to assume the PS6 will be disc-less, too.

Want a disc drive? Buy it as an add-on. 😕

Yeah that pisses me off. "Pro" my arse. But most of my library is digital these days anyway so... Eh.
