So my work made the mistake of giving me an end of year bonus and naturally I wasted most of it (after clearing my credit card debt) on more stuff than usual.

Retrotink 4K (Pro, as it's now called). This thing is the tits, especially since I can finally avoid having the moire effect as my TV upscales a 1440p image to 2180p, or a 1080p image trying to fit a 480p or 720p source. Also the analog to digital conversion is definitely improved from the Retrotink 5x Pro, even with proper calibration on the latter.

Then 8bitdo suddenly released a German ISO layout of this thing, so I had to grab one. This finally replaces my 9 year old Logitech G710+. Feels nice, the freely movable numpad is great as well as I use that return key a lot for dialog confirmations as it's so close to my thumb on my mouse anyway.
Also got that grey keychain thing while I was at it, the red one now protects my spare yubikey and the grey one my spare house keys.

And since my Logitech G502 has also started to liquefy after 9 years of use I figured I should also replace that one. This here is the Cherry XTRFY MK42 Retro. Colors are a pretty close match but not quite perfect. Still it works fine, is a lot lighter, and hopefully the absence of rubber parts will mean this one won't turn sticky.

And last but not least, a tiny little C64 / Amiga to USB converter for the joystick port, so I can use some actually good controllers with nice dpad for my C64 games.

My Majora's Mask N3DS microSD card corrupted today. I lost years of data, so I ordered a new one and am going through my backups, but I probably lost at least half of my stuff. I will probably have to reset everything and rerip all my game carts. I hope none of them have died.

Try using some recovery software to try and find it. That's very unfortunate that your SD card got corrupted with most of your progress.

I've tried and it can't. It's completely dead.
That sucks man, though if nothing else maybe use this as motivation to figure out a way that works for you to backup your important stuff regularly.
Ages ago I accidentally dropped my external HDD with my 900+ hour save of Morrowind (and some other less important shit like work documents) and lost all of that, and since then I've built up a proper back up system for all my devices so similar doesn't happen again.

Considering it's a N3DS and that the MicroSD can't just be popped out it might be worth learning how to use FTP in your network. That way you can just open one of the two nice FTP clients on your N3DS, open one on your PC (I recommend WinSCP), and just copy the saves folder once every couple months.
Takes about 5 minutes once you went through with setting it up the first time around, and you can also use that same method on a bunch of other handhelds and consoles.

I do use FTP on it; it's how I mainly transfer files onto it. Ironically, it's the GBAtemp version of FTP-GMX. I just think it was age and wear on the card. I don't mind having to reset everything; it just sucks that all my save data is lost, but it could be worse. I'm currently backing up my Zelda O3DS XL microSD to transfer it to a new card, just in case.

Got a new m.2 enclosure in really like it over my old one which was like 4 screw this one just takes one. Does get a little warm but it'll live behind my TV for rips and what not.

fanxiang SSD Enclosure https://a.co/d/9MkFles

Just got a 512gb ssd in there but 20gb file transfered in 2 minutes pretty impressive.

Also formatted to FAT32 to I can easily use my phone to transfer movies or series.
Fancy!
I got a cheaper one (2 screws), I'm cheap...

Picked up some pre-order (Honkai Star Rail) and online order (Visions of Mana) games from Gamestop today, while the LEGO is from Costco (discounted to $29.99) all while restocking some water bottles since snow will show up tomorrow and none of us don't wanna go out on sheer cold and rain.

A guy I work with is going through boxes and gave me these two GBAs he doesn't want anymore. He plays on a DS Lite, so it has GBA built-in. These were completely free to me, and the green one is a Target exclusive. I'm over the moon!

Decided to upgrade before Windows 10 EOL (Old CPU not Win11 capable) and before any potential tariffs go into effect. Won't be used for gaming, but just for general use. Unfortunately the cooler radiator would not fit above mobo, so I used the front.
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X & Liquid Cooler Master
Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX v2 Motherboard
32GB G.Skill Flare X5 Series DDR5-6000
MSI Geforce GTX 4060 GPU
1TB WD Black M.2 SSD (7000mbs)
1000 watt Power Supply & Fractual MidATX case
