Changed the thermal paste of newly acquired CECH2501B slim. Had a joyous reunion with the assembly of said models BD - large(ish) hands do help the process tremendously as well. Of course forgot the change the RTC battery while at it, but at least the temps stay now on more manageable levels and the console is far more quiet.

I'll prolly change the HDD for larger regular spinner, present one is 160Gb. This one might end up as DEX/CEX unit, haven't decided yet.

My multimeter uses 2 AAA batteries.
My magnifier uses 3 AAA batteries.
I only have 4 AAA batteries.

Had a USB laying around and decided to make my magnifier use USB power instead. Which is okay because 1.5V x 3 AAA = 4.5V so ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭

I mostly use it on my PC using DS4Windows. I'm not a huge fan of wireless and charging so I wanted it to be always wired.

Includes:
- Split USB cable - 1x power/connectivity & 1x power
- Keyboard attachment
- Mini USB extension for keyboard (helps even split USB cable lengths)
- Skull & Co. raised thumbstick caps (I have big hands)
- Black wire ties to hold everything in place

PS4 and PS5 controllers are probably the best PC controllers possible. Comfortable, gyro for emulating Wii U, Switch, etc. Trigger sensitive L2/R2 for emulating Gamecube. For construction I drilled a couple of holes into the clear keyboard mount to run the wire ties. Carved out a bit from the mount around the joysticks using a dremel, as the thumb caps were rubbing. Also have one holding the two cables in place so they never fall out or move around, both are rather tight and sturdy. Keyboard connects via bluetooth and comes in handy when playing PC titles for keyboard shortcuts (M for map), and even typing stuff in Switch emulation (gotta name that horse somehow). Little bit of work, lots of money for a single controller, but its the best controller I ever owned.

Here's a modification for the Famicom Disk System called simply "the FDC-3206 'write mod'". It allows you to write and backup FDS disks with the FDSStick. Originally the schematics were posted to FamicomWorld and I wanted to make a board just to keep practicing my design skills.

Picked up a GBA in Japan for around $30. It didn’t power on, but everything else was in great condition. The power switch just needed a good cleaning. This will be a great candidate for my first custom GBA system.

Credit to Lonnie from XBOX-SCENE for sending me a physical picture of my Cheapmod Mini modchip for the OG Xbox that he got fabricated from JLCPCB. Shown here is a prototype board, I have made one mistake in the early design and that is pin 13 of the flash chip not being connected to one of the LPC pads, the final revision will have this fixed.

I will have the GitHub repository up later in the week so you can build your own.

Added Cyrillic labels to the front of my keys. They also had a bath and are now the cleanest they've ever been since I got the board (Unicomp SpaceSaver M - Mac-layout USB replica of the legendary IBM Model M). I had to improvise the > and ] from spare slashes as the sticker sets didn't come with the characters the § and ` keys produce.
