Brought my WiiU into 2025's - ISFSHAX, partitioned HDD for WiiU and vWii and of course updating Aroma and plugins in the process as well. Huge thank you @SDIO @rw-r-r-0644 (and other coders) for the programs and really well written instructions!

Accidentally ripped my Headphones cable, so decided to resolder them again, then I noticed that the R- and L- channels were soldered in one point, so resoldered them and now they sound even better than they did before!

Something that was bugging me was that it sounded grainy when I ranked my volume all the way up, now I hear absolutely nothing outside of my headphones at half the maximum volume level :grog:

Wishing I had a Volume Pot to increase the volume even further though!

That means they share a common ground. Cool you able to fix and have the soldering knowledge.
Thought that too, but no, there's a clear R+ R- L- L+ solder points.
The ground is on the other extreme.

I can't stress this enough, but now I get why my Right often heard everything at a lower volume than my Left.

Just poppedd in to post this:

I can't say I "Fixed" my laptop,

But I can sure say I "Modded" it alright. Oops 😦

I had attempted to do the thermal paste thing again on it, as I could feel it getting hotter than usual. So I went on YT, checked out on how to do it [refresher], proceeded to do it, and broke the thing where the screw goes into to hold the Wifi chip in. :O:ohnoes::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:.

So I put it back together, after deciding to STOP.

It still works btw.

i fixed my DC. the custom bios did not boot anymore. after i resoldered two legs of the custom bios chip, it loads the hdd fine again. i really hate those piggyback solutions. my next mission is to upgrade my 3ds from themehax/gateway to b9s/luma/gateway, or to fix the ROD of my xbox.

Hopefully you didn't visit some shady high street repair store, where they will often check stuff on your hard drive during the repair process, invading most of your privacy. Or yet, they would not even repair it at all due to the lack of experience.

lol, yea. Hope they like viewing "Nakey" pictures of me. :tpi::rofl2::rofl2:

I'm not scared if they see them, tbh. :)

The rest is business things, game saves.. etc.

A old QNAP TS-209 NAS.

Not really "fixed" because it wasn't broken, but it didn't work because of software. QNAP makes it very difficult to get it working again after disk replacement by not offering the correct/needed software versions...

I got the NAS for free without hard drives, but after putting 2 drives in it, both the web interface as SSH only gave "connection refused". On the QNAP webpage it offered QFinder 7.1 when searched for TS-209 downloads, which can detect the NAS being not initialized yet, but doing so just opens de browser pointing to the not working web interface...

The oldest version listed for TS-209 was QFinder 6.4. With this version a wizard came up to set the basic settings like hostname, network, time and RAID. But it asked for a firmware image which was not on the QNAP page. After a long search I only found it at the Russian webpage of QNAP...

Everything went fine except at the end it failed installing the firmware. Manually install it afterwards only gave "password incorrect" while I'm sure it was correct...

The RAID1 was building up, but still no web interface or SSH because of the failed firmware install. The part of the firmware containing the management tools are on the hard drives(s) instead of the flash memory.

Then I searched for a older QFinder version... which was version 5.3 on some shady webpage. With this one I finally could install the firmware to the disk using the "update firmware"-function and the web interface and SSH came to life... :)

I received a NSO N64 controller for Christmas. It's otherwise really nice, but it had a really weird unsettling clunk when pressing up on the stick and I could not get used to it. I took it apart and rebent the large coil spring to prevent it from go over the an internal lip and now it works great. I love easy fixes. I wonder how many other units suffer from this.

Repaired an ebike brake light that was ripped off the bike and the wires were pulled from the PCB. I had to figure out where everything went. I got it working again, but it took some time to understand how to test it before I soldered the wires back in place.

Replaced battery on my Lezyne micro drive 500xl. I don't get it, the light is designed to come to bits easily, no clips, no glued stuff, one screw and the light can just be pushed out of it's housing. Even the battery is just plugged in, but Lezyne don't sell a replacement. Makes no sense.

A fairly standard battery (just one of those silver lipo batteries with a protection board, so just have to buy the right size), but still, you make it so easy to take to bits, just sell the battery ffs so people don't have to hunt around for a suitable replacement.
