    New Homebrew-based Handheld System
From the creators of the GP2X comes the... Wiz?!?
Boasting better hardware than the GP2X, the Wiz aims to be the next cool linux-based handheld homebrew system.
With a touchscreen, Flash support, emulators, a video player, ebook reader, games, etc... this device is truly meant for the community.

    Wiz Intro

    Preorder
    It comes out in October.

From Gamepark Holdings (creators of the GP2X).

Decisions decisions... this or the Pandora...

    Kickass.
That's something they should do with the new Nintendo DS (wide ass touchscreen).

Glad I've not picked up the GP2X.

    Pandora >>>>>>>>>>>>> The Wiz.

The Wiz = Urban Wizard of Oz w/ Michael Jackson as a confused Scarecrow.

True that the Pandora is much better than The Wiz, but Pandora is almost twice as expensive. The Wiz looks to be $180(US) and the Pandora around $330.

    So there's that.

(but i'd like me some Wifi with the Pandora. The Wiz doesn't have that lol)

    the button layout looks rather.....
wait, there is no button layout! O-o
I guess its a left or right hander.
Nice to have the touch screen and all, but I hope theres some optional way to fix that right side D-pad or something. I need me some buttons.

Hmm, it's not too bad for 180 bucks but I hope they fixed the battery use issue.
The GP2X cost almost the price of a new PSP at the time with all the parts I wanted with it.
(TV out, rechargeable batteries and the like)

Though I'd certainly buy this over an Iphone xD

Hmm, it includes both a Stylus pen and a touch pen, plus two USB cables..... why?
Just trying to make the list look bigger? [IMG]

I think it's 4 buttons that are in the shape of a D-Pad, though the pictures don't really show much.

What battery issue? It uses a Lithium Polymer one now, so no more AA batteries!

Why do they keep making it harder for me to decide what to buy!?

edit: Just checked out the Pandora. This s**t can run HL1 in low specs! Wins for me.

edit2: according to its site it can run Quake 3 TOO!?

    edit3:
    How much will it cost?
    Around £199 (inc VAT), $330, Euro212 (Ex.VAT).
    HUH?
212 euros but 330 dollars? WTF!?

    wait
They actually converted the price instead of making it like 330 euros. YAY!

Pandora wins over the Wiz with resolution alone. I mean 320x240 vs 800x480? It also seems like a more promising choice when comparing other features. The only thing that I think the Wiz is better is the onboard memory, but then again you'll be able to use 2xSDHC memorycards with Pandora.

GamePark is a shell of the once great company it was. The Pandora is better than this in EVERY way, other than size. More power (ARM Cortex 8), larger screen, QWERTY keyboard, dual analog sticks, and it supports REAL computing applications such as FireFox 3 (

I'm going for the Pandora too. But, I think the Pandora's Design is better that this. It looks fat in the Pictures.
