Seems they joined forces with a new group that not only claims to have fully decompiled Mig Switch's firmware, but also made improvements of their own and willing to go open-source with it. I wouldn't be surprised if these OpenMig guys are just some of the actual Mig Switch team joining forces.
They are full of crap! they have nothing! only hardware, why do they need any other group if they have the firmware already. they are a joke and if anyone if waiting for them HAHAHAHAHAH. you will be waiting a long time! get a MiG Switch and be done! they started it / they know what there doing.... others are only followers.....

fog and mirrors because so far no software.

One thing is kicking me on my butt about those devices: The «Programmer» port, uses the same connector than Switch V1/V2's SD Card port, is not that connector too prone to broke on normal use?

Very much so. I don’t trust the ribbon connector one bit

From UnlockSwitch's Telegram group:

Here’s the full UnlockSwitch PBS Kit!

⁃The UnlockSwitch PBS

⁃The Programmer

⁃The Xtractor

⁃USB Type-C Cable

For anyone who hasn’t been keeping up since day one, let’s dive into the exciting pricing details!

- The production of UnlockSwitch without the Wi-Fi antenna for $24.90
( 10 000 pcs only)

- The Xtractor alone will be sold for $34.90

- The kit, including the UnlockSwitch PBS with the Wi-Fi Antenna , the Programmer, and the Xtractor , will be sold for $59.90

All details about the production start date and the official launch of the UnlockSwitch PBS will be announced this week.

$59.90 for the whole kit is pretty decent deal, provided it works as intended.

None shown in the images, at the very least. I hope that they do add some sort of case for it. If not, maybe our resident MIG Switch wizard @TheStonedModder will come up with one? :D
Depends on when it actually releases. I want to make an FDM friendly case for it (if they dont release theirs and it isnt already FDM friendly that is)

I was set to move to asheville in 2 weeks..but the hurricane washing the city away kind of put that on hold.

Problem is tho..i have all of my stuff packed away for this move that was supposed to happen, as well as can't/shouldnt spend any money until it does. Since im now paying rent on 2 houses(since I still have to live in the old one)

TLDR: I would love too, but everything on my end is on indefinite hold until I can move to my new house

$25 for just the flash cart is sweet deal. Are they officially only going to sell 10,000 units direct then expect the community to make their own flash carts after they sell out? I think if its open source then we can maybe hit $10 fairly quickly in china.

They are trying to lure us in to buying soon:

When you connect the Xtractor to your PC, two new drives appear at the Same time:

- Drive 1 : Your original switch game
- Drive 2: The micro SD card reader

Simply copy and paste from the cartridge to the micro SD card reader or to any hard drive.

It's that simple!

Keep in mind that The Xtractor is a tool for backing up your own original games!

We do not promote illegal downloading.

Thank you.

but I wonder WHY IN THE HELL they let go the opportunity to create a stand alone device, you put the cartridge, a SD card and press a button and whalá, a backup is made!

Now you need a pc to copy from the cartridge to the sd card, i can bet you will need cpu, memory and data bandwidth to copy from one to other.

I asked them about that in the same tweet

They jsut said it’s not ready yet. So it sounds like it will support standalone dumping soon maybe

If not it’s small enough, I can make a raspberry pi combo case and a small integrated system can be made easy enough

(Just assuming based off of what I read )

25 dollars? I have a hacked Switch, and might buy one of these for fun to mess around with. Can you add DLC and updates?

I'll definitely grab one of the UnlockSwitch kits if the shipping isn't too nuts. The price is pretty good compared to the alternatives as long as it actually works.
