They reached out to offer and help me out completly on their own and shared some files with me to help with the shell I’m working on

So I give them credit where credit is do, that was super nice of the team and I did learn a lot
That does sound really nice of them.

It was super random I agree and didn’t see it coming either

But I’m not gonna question it. We are on good terms now and it was very generous of them. Since i instantly learned a few things I could have been doing better

(Now if only I could focus on one project )

One day I will learn to focus on a single project at a time...but here is a sneak peak

you can use compressed files with the migswitch?
You can not, but that would be sick.

This is to automate the MIG dumper and Xtractor(when it comes out) for backing up games from them. I just compress to save some space and make uploading to my NAS a bit easier

What exactly does it automate? It's either late or I'm missing something. :D
Maybe I just do things in a stupid order and it will only be useful to me Buuut

My normal work flow is
  1. Plug in dumper
  2. Insert cart
  3. Copy to an external drive
  4. Compress as much as possible to a specific directory that gets mirrored to my NAS
  5. Delete original (but keep compression)

So this pretty much does steps 3-5 and alerts when done so I can just eject the cart and insert another one and continue the process

Ah, now it makes sense. Sounds great! ^^

THE one and only boxy pixel is going to h give me a quote on some anodized aluminum mig shells here soon. Would anyone be interested in those? There is a 100 unit minimum

Won't that risk shorting the cartslot?
Tbh I don’t have any idea and am not sure how to find out without just trying. This is all a learning experience so feel free to call me a dumb ass

But my entire line of logic is that if this can be done with GBA flashcarts and NDS(I think Martin refresh made one at one point) the switch should also be fine ?

I mean I guess? As long as the aluminium doesn't touch the pins it's probably fine.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. If anything I may need to print a plastic interface layer to line the inside and protect the PCB but from what I can see the shell itself does not touch the pins. But again I could just be a dumbass who’s about to kill a switch 🤣
