renaming everything to rom worked. weird. not sure how to solve the root cause now. Also i have no clue why my sd card is completely full. apparently animal crossing is 512GBs
the dump runs fine in yuzu, i added that update later so the dump is fine. The migswitch is also doing something very weird with my SD card. its reading with 0 space on my computer, happened last night too when i was first trying to test it

its definately not my SD card. ive been using this SD card for over a year in a steamdeck with 0 issues. It also doesnt happen right away. I modified files, recopied, edited names multiple times before it showed up that way in windows

What OS are you running? Are you safely ejecting your SD card after you're done copying the files?
I used to never do that either, but I found that windows 11 and macOS really really like to finish doing the read/write operation for a bit longer in the background. Theres been a few times where clicking saftey eject in windows took another minute still because it was still finishing up
Ive corrupted quite a few rpi sd cards this way recently

I'm encountering a similar issue. Waiting on a different SD card to arrive by mail and will test it out and let people know.
Current facts:
Using the MIG Switch V2 from Ali
Switch FW 18.0.1
MIG FW: 1.1.4
Current SD card is a SanDisk Extreme Pro 512GB (from a reputable seller so no fake)
Games were downloaded from the Russian tracker dump
The problem appears only with certain games
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door --> works flawlessly
Zelda: Links Awakening --> Does not load / gives error message
Switch Sports --> works flawlessly
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker --> Does not load / gives error message
Steps I'm taking to pinpoint the issue:
Redownload the XCI from the Russian tracker dump --> maybe a bad download
Try a different SD card (Samsung)
Try a different FW version
In addition, I have the physical version of Mario Party Superstars. The local version on my device is 1.1.1 and the dump version is 1.0. I will try to use the dump the version and then run the update to see if I will get banned / can use the dumped version to play offline on my Switch. But first I want to figure out this "not recognized / read" issue
Don't have access to a Windows machine rn, so can't do HW2Test atm
With the Samsung SD Paper Mario loaded up, but upon switching (aka pressing the button on my V2 MIG) it only loaded up Paper Mario again, did not switch to another game and therefore game me the error message
Redownloaded Captain Toad and Links Awakening from the public dump and they worked! (On the original Sandisk SD and Samsung SD)
What's curious is, that the long press function to go back a game does not seem to work. Not sure if my button is not correctly transmitting the signal... it does seem a bit flimsy to me

I have just got my Mig Switch 2 set up - all works fine except for...............
The addition of the button on the top to cycle through games whilst the gamecard cover is closed (this is what the video shows on the mig switch site) just does not work - if I use a pair of tweezers to press on the button with the game card cover open then indeed it does go to the next game - that's when the bloody thing doesn't fully eject from the switch if you press on a little too hard.
It's not made to last this MIG SWITCH - and the long press to go back a game does not work for me either - but my sandisk sd cards from amazon worked first time !!
I am using games / files from the public dump - am I correct in thinking I can use switch xci's from normal torrent sites and substitute a few files from the ones I have from the public torrent dump to get them working if I am not bothered about ever connectine my switch to the internet - if so which files ?

If you push on a very specific part on the closed game cover with your fingernail you can press the button. its hard to do so though. I'm debating putting a very small notch to catch my nail on on the cover each time. I've gotten the game to switch back with a double press of the button instead of the hold as well.

I don't have any fingernails (haha - but at least I don't smoke !!) - I am actually wishing I got the version 1 at this point - I will try the double press and report back - I guess after doing some reading I wont get the normal xci torrent files to work - but I'm happy with the russian dump games I have tried.

Can I give my son my mig switch cart with games on it that I use in my switch to use in his switch ?
Or does the initial set up of the .nxindex file mean that you can only use that sd card on that switch - and that you would have to set up another sd card for his switch ?

The .nxdex file basically locks the game onto the card so it shows it every time you insert it. It tells the MiG which game to behave as a cartridge for. It would work on any switch!
A Russian site has started claiming that incomplete (xci and only 2 bins) dumps are causing temporary bans with error codes "2181-4017" and "2124-4517". Apparently these are 7-90 day bans. I have not noticed this yet, fingers crossed. Anybody with those codes here?
No bans observed for full dumps yet. Mixed dumps are getting full bans.

Seems a Hoax, At least is incorrect, Initializing the console DO NOT CLEAR THE GAME INSTALLATION LOGS nor telemetry, so if you do anything banneable initializing will not correct it.

OMG, the BAN IS NOT TEMPORAL, the error displayed is
Error 2181-4017 : Network services are temporarily unavailable. Please wait a moment, then try again...
No means the Ban is temporarily, the error is a generic one, could happen if the big N servers are TEMPORARILY offline but if the servers are online YOUR ARE PERMANENTLY BANNED.
