Would be nice to know if any of those trial testers for unlock switch got their preview copies? Mass production was supposed to happen last week afaik.
I'm not impressed with either company. Build quality of mig switch seems bad, website hosted on .com , no purchase limits leaving buyers to visit AliExpress or unreliable resellers.
Not sure either Mig switch or Unlock will be able to keep up with demand, not to mention restoring public trust and the challenges they will face from Nintendo...

They posted on Twitter. Another non specific announcement about production starting soon (after saying it started a few weeks ago??)

Definitely starting to stink a bit.

Oh forgot to post my second lite also got banned and that was the one with no atmosphere just mismatched certs and playing online ban came in like 5 days

Thank you for the feedback. It really helps form a better picture of the situation, especially with an example like yours where it's two in a row.

Seems like I have to erase the Nxindex file every time I add a game to get it to switch correctly .

You’re not timing it correctly
When I erase it seems to work fine. I'll pay more attention .I just switched flash cards to see it that was it. Or possibly the fw didn't install correctly.
Post automatically merged:

Are y'all mostly using 1.1.4 fw?

Surprise, surprise. They can check if the cert matches the game server side. :P Would not surprise me either if they are working on a lotus firmware update that can detect the Mig.

Do you have the MiG 2.0 or 1.0? I’ve run into a nasty bug where if you try to go backwards on the first game in the series it corrupts the .nxindex and I have to manually delete it off my computer before I can cycle again. This only happens if I try to go backwards on the first game.

Apparently reusing certificates even if there will only be a single instance of it being used will = ban (like 5 days later).

Would this work and not cause ban?:
Buy physical game (brand new, factory sealed)
Dump files with mig dumper (not xci and initial data)
// never insert game into Nintendo Switch
Download 1 cartridge game from the internet (xci and initial data)
Use files from dumped game only 1 time with game downloaded from the internet, with correct naming for files

You can’t mix and match certs at all

Games need to be a 5/5 match

Like stone said, it is the timing.i started messing with the cartridge inserting. I have V1.

Another update from UnlockSwitch team (from Telegram):

Hello to all our followers!

As we announced midweek, we promised to give you more details and the steps for launching the UnlockSwitch PBS and the Xtractor this weekend.

Today is the big day!

The two transparent cases will arrive before July 30th. The models we presented and sent to our beta testers were prototype/demo versions. We will, of course, post photos and videos when they arrive.

The production of our first batch of the UnlockSwitch PBS and its programmer will start on August 1st.

This initial production will be limited to just 10,000 units. After this, the UnlockSwitch PBS will only be available in a kit with the Xtractor , so it won't be possible to buy the UnlockSwitch PBS alone anymore.

This version will be sold without a WiFi antenna. The delivery of the antenna has been delayed by the manufacturer. We initially announced a price of $29.90, but we will offer it slightly cheaper.

The UnlockSwitch PBS without the WiFi antenna and its programmer will be sold for $24.90 USD.

We have already placed a large order for the kit production with the Xtractor .

Regarding the Xtractor :

The development of the Xtractor is nearing its final phase. We will launch test samples before the end of the month, and we will present them to you beforehand. Our solution is an improved version of products already on the market. We will reveal its specifications only at the time of its presentation, to keep it a surprise.

In summary:

- The production of Toto without the WiFi antenna for $24.90 will begin on August 1st.
- Commercialization and shipping will start around August 15-20.
- The Xtractor alone will be sold for $34.90 USD.
- The kit, including the UnlockSwitch PBS , the programmer, and the Xtractor , will be sold for $59.90 USD.

The release date for the kit and the standalone Xtractor will be announced in early August.

Thank you.

Built in wifi? What could the purpose of that be for, copying to SD card over WiFi maybe?

I hope some day they enable a remote control like the one used by Park Sung Switch Game Card Reader

The microcontroller on the MIG is a ESP32 which have natively radio communications.

We see the same question being asked multiple times a day. It's either from new people discovering the UnlockSwitch project who haven't followed its development, or we haven't explained the programmer's functionality clearly, for which we apologize.

The UnlockSwitch PBS is sold blank and clean, without any preprogrammed code, for legal reasons that everyone understands. This means the end user, which is you, will need to flash your cartridge to use the UnlockSwitch and your backup copies of Switch games. More features will be unlocked later.

The UnlockSwitch is an open-source project, so it will evolve over time.

The programmer allows you to update all the components present on the UnlockSwitch, ensuring that future developments or updates are possible without any limits, so it won't become obsolete.

The UnlockSwitch will be sold with its programmer and software, which will be compatible with Windows only at launch.

The software release date hasn't been officially announced yet. It will be sent first to our 60 beta testers, selected last month, very soon. The beta testers will then demonstrate and share their experiences online.

To reiterate, even though it has been mentioned several times, commercialization will begin after our beta testers validation, and never before.

Hey, I've been playing games offline without issue, but I wanted to ask about updating games if I come across bugs. There is mention of inserting the mig, removing it and then updating the game, does this work, any bans from this? I don't really care if I cop a ban but rather avoid it
