Compatibility Issues: MigSwitch-V2 Not Working With “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond”

I bought an NS1 version of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and dumped it using the latest nxdumptool-rewrite. I placed the 5 dumped files into my MigSwitch-V2 and plugged it into my Switch, but it always fails to load.
The system shows:
“The gamecard could not be read.”
I’ve run many experiments, and at this point I strongly believe the issue is related to MigSwitch-V2.

My Environment

  • NS1 updated to 21.0.1
  • Created emuNAND
  • Latest Atmosphère
  • Other games run perfectly in emu environment
  • Keys dumped via Lockpick_RCM (required by nxdumptool-rewrite)

Experiments Conducted

  1. Dumping comparison
I dumped Metroid Prime 4: Beyond with both nxdumptool-rewrite and MigDumpTool.
→ Compared the 5 dumped files using md5sum — they are identical.
  2. Installing the dump
Installed the dumped XCI using dbi.nroinstallation succeeded, and the game runs normally.
  3. Using MigSwitch-V2
When the 5 “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond” files are on the MigSwitch card,
    • NS1 cannot read the gamecard
    • NS2 cannot read the gamecard
→ Both show: “The gamecard could not be read.”
  4. Other games work fine
All my other dumped games load correctly on MigSwitch-V2 — except the newly released Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Conclusion

Based on all my tests, I’m quite certain this is a compatibility issue with MigSwitch-V2

Has anyone else encountered the same issue?
Is there currently any method or workaround to solve it?

So the ninjas already know how to detect a MIG card!?
A new wave is quite possible.
I wouldn't be surprised if those who tried to run this dump get banned.
Mig Team loves "playing ping pong" with Nintendo, and Nintendo loves it even more.

That doesn't mean they don't work... just that you don't want to use the online connection. (big difference).
When I want to do local coop, some games require an internet connection or an update to work but I have airplane mode on.

Again... there is a huge difference between "doesn't work" and "requires internet connection or an update that I can't provide in airplane mode", and saying that doesn't work because "requires connection" is misleading: You would have the same issue with an original cartridge (which obviously doesn't mean the original cartridge doesn't work).
Your issue is you try to use copies from the internet instead of your own... so here lies the "problem".
You can update the games from a different console (without connecting to the internet) using the local connection... and the internet connection games (if it's required to play and you can only play on "airplane mode"... why you even try those? ".

That is why I try new games on the Mig Switch on my modded switch under eMMC first. That doesn't go anywhere near the internet.

How do you know?
Well... something quite simple... I found their e-mail address, sent then an email, and they answered to it.
The "old way" of asking and getting a reply. :rofl2: :rofl2:

I just tried and the dump is now working... still issues with Salty if you have it active (same as with the original cartridge).

I used the contact form on the mig flash site using my phone with ad block disabled and I was able to send them a message. That was a few days ago. If I try via a desktop browser it would fail.
