Hey Spade I like the animated DS with full text on the skins, lets you know exactly what it’s going
to look like. Out of curiosity is there a way to change the black game text to white in the R4/ Simply?
I haven’t received mine yet so don’t know.

Now to respond to a few people:

Unfortunately, you cannot change the color of the text.

As I have said before, I only create skins from my own favorite things. SCUMMvm games are not among that group. Fortunately, you are more than free to take a shot at making those yourself.

Let me give you a breakdown of all that I use:

· Microsoft Paint
· Jasc Paint Shop Pro (or use Photoshop)
· Winsnap
· CoolText
· Google Image Search
· deviantART
· Any website that hosts images pertaining to my theme

The only tips that I can give you, besides getting those programs and understanding all 4 images must be 24-bit .BMP at a resoution of 256x192, are these:

1. Familiarizing yourself with the programs is the most important. A Dummies' book wouldn't be too bad of an idea.
2. Grab GCTonyHawk7's templates here.
3. You should have your icons in-mind ahead of time. Also, make certain that they are not too small, as you can always resize them to fit.
4. Remember that using dark images isn't always a good idea due to the GUI font being black on most screens.
5. Save all of the original art that you use as well as saving your work-in-progress. You will find yourself going back to improve an area here and there.

How do you get the DS to animate between one screen and the next?

Just a .gif I made from my skins combined with custom overlays that I have also been working on. I'm toying with the idea of changing all of my previews to look like this example. For now, I'm busy working on the next skin or two.

I've spent the past few days gaining feedback from users (thanks to all). With that, I have added labels to ALL icons. I've also found a few new pieces of art here and there. If you downloaded any skin before, then you might want to check out the revised ones. Finally, there's a new custom preview template that I whipped up. It's simple and leads to smaller GIFs, which is for everyone who complained about how long it took to load them all. I'll be taking a small break from skinning, as I have other responsibilities to commit to. Enjoy, and I'll hopefully have a few more skins to share sometime next week.

I redid the gamelist backgrounds for NSMB. Looking back, the entire skin has been redone since its first version. No, I don't mark them by versions. Best way to keep up to date with improvements is to check back on occasion. Now, time to find some new skin ideas.

Since I'll be working on skins during my free time, I felt it was best to just put all that I am working on in a single thread, so that it will be much easier to address any comments towards my little offerings. Yes, I'll be working on more. I hope you M3 DS Simply & R4 owners find these to your satisfaction!
