And to think, people around here still believe and trust the corporate media owned by billionaires while at the same time railing against billionaires. Bruh...Twitter is owned by a billionaire. It has nothing to do with trust. Once a story is in the public sphere they have no way of keeping it from spreading. Yes, if we were a socialist nation, we wouldn't be having all of these environmental catastrophes happening all around the nation. Yet, you can't prove that statement. You hate capitalism because you suck at capitalism. I'd be surprised if you make minimum wage, which is why you are so angry. Those of us who are more successful and who have also traveled to other countries and witnessed how their economies work, have a different perspective. Instead of whining that you aren't making $15 an hour, why don't you search the internet and learn how to make a fortune. You won't because you aren't that smart. It's why you want an authoritarian dictator to implement socialism and make everybody as poor and stupid as you are, for equity. Does anyone here actually believe Republicans will vote for an infrastructure revitalization bill proposed by the Biden administration, though? The cost of fixing/rebuilding everything that requires it would be in the billions, if not hundreds of billions, and the only thing congress can seem to agree to spend that much money on is the military.

Yeah I thought I remembered hearing about that. Good that it's in progress then, but these are massive projects that take a lot of time, we can't expect them to have an instant effect.

Yes, and I remember several new projects starting up in my area immediately afterward. They were all finished years ago, but there still wasn't enough funding to address the problems with much of our older infrastructure.

Ten billion is a drop in the bucket, especially if most of it went to commuter railways. I doubt even Biden's bill added enough funding to fix everything that needs it, but we'll see.

Certainly a lot more progress could've been made by now if Trump had actually done anything during one of a hundred weeks he declared to be "infrastructure week." However, when one specific corporation is involved in back-to-back derailments, almost all responsibility and blame should rightly fall on them. Norfolk Southern are prioritizing short-term profit over long-term safety and stability, and I hope everyone affected by these disasters sues them into oblivion.

When you simp for any billionaire, you're giving all of them cover to continue on with the dysfunctional status quo. So maybe reconsider doing that from now on.
