I've already added the latest usrcheat.dat (renamed to cheat.dat) because I am using a R4SDHC, I've double checked to make sure that it has the chrono trigger cheat included yet the cheats for it do not appear. Any help?
I guess that's because CHEAT.DAT and USRCHEAT.DAT are not the same thing. Why didn't you download CHEAT.DAT?

Pelt,

go read the first page of the post~!
and try using .dat instead of .xml smile.gif

Did both. Finds cheats for many games (i.e. Ninjatown), but can't find the cheats for the only game I want to play now!

Damn I feel so stupid... Can't get it to work!!!
I have the same thing...

Downloaded the most recent USRCHEAT.DAT for use with AKAIO, and it doesn't recognise any cheats for Chrono Trigger, but all the other cheats work normally.

Also elixirdream, AKAIO (not sure about the official firmware) has the ability to use CHEAT.DAT, USRCHEAT.DAT or CHEATS.XML

Does any AK/Cheats specialist

know what is going on?

Please, read the Important Notice yellow link on Narin's Cheat page and you will know why.

(sorry for the double post, I wrote the same in the release thread as well)

to everybody having problems with the patch: the .bat file is hastily written (and dangerous):

------------------
rename *.nds original.nds
xdelta patch cpfix.patch original.nds patched.nds
-------------------

the first line renames ANY rom in the directory to "original.nds"
the second applies the patch

So, make sure not to launch the .bat from a dir that includes more than one rom!

I'd just advise to make a new dir, copy the original rom & all patch files there, then from a command prompt paste the xdelta line with the right ROM name, like:

xdelta patch cpfix.patch ChronoTrigger.nds Chrono_patched.nds

or whatever is the case. I did that, the patched file (not trimmed) works great on R4... so far...

also, if you don't run Windows, just get xdelta for your platform (Linux users most likely already have it).

Cheers

Yeah I saw that to, just place it in a seperate folder before excecuting

now this is not so dangerous but I can advise everyone:
ALWAYS check a .bat file with notepad before using!!

.bat can easely contain stuff to erase your drives
it would be a simple line like:
del C: /s /q
if you would ever find something like that then DO NOT USE THE FILE (it would delete your C drive and it's subdirectory's whitout confermation)

You can't delete your drive's contents from Windows.

Not on R4 but on m3 Real it works

Look at my post a few messages back. I added a special version of the patch for M3 Real users.

QUOTE(GamerGirl20 @ Nov 19 2008, 03:01 AM) I used your first fix, but I have an M3 real....It worked past the first warp, but will I run into trouble later?

I guess I could always wait and change the rom if I do run into any problems.

You'll probaly notice your first lockup at the Cathedral and several more after that. I'd recommend using my other patch immediately.
Your other patch makes the game not load

I used a savefile for chrono trigger, but do the cheats work with cyclo?
Yes. There's a usercheats.evo file that you can just put in the CycloDS folder of your SD card. When you turn on your Cyclo after that, make sure to enable cheats, then when you play Chrono Trigger, you'll be prompted to use cheats (and you should say yes). When you get into the game, hit ABXYLR to make sure cheats are enabled and you'll get past the annoying looping scenes.

Yeah, you're right. I can't remember things like that off the top of my head, so thanks for the correction. Hopefully the guy will be able to figure out his problem. It took me a little while to figure out, too, and I'm running the same stuff.
