I have read all around that the new things are a new type of firmware, SD card comtability with pictures and sounds/music, and a DSi shop thing. My question is

Will the DSi be the next gen handheld, and have its own "DSi" library of retail games for sale at stores and shop games. Or will it just be another DS upgrade to better the DS lite?

I am just wondering this, because I would hate for upcoming games like "Mario and Luigi 3" to be DSi only.

Retail games will be for any DS, but the DSi will have DSiWare, like the Wii has WiiWare. It's possible that Nintendo will release retail DSi only games, but games like Mario and Luigi 3 will be for every DS.

Unless the DSi sells very, very well, I doubt Nintendo will make many DSi exclusives. There are way too many DS Lites out there already.

Most likely some games will just have DSi extra features. Although I can't really see how they'll use the cameras in games.

I'm betting the camera will be for some pointless thing like having your picture on an avatar or something like that.

That would be pretty sad if that's all they use them for.

The camera just seems like a Gameboy Camera V2 to me, really, its like deja vu with that. Personally I think the camera addition is stupid...but we'll see if its cool, hopefully Nintendo can find some way to convince me.

I'm also thinking about buying a dsi, but at the other side I can buy a ipod touch 2g for the same money. It's a hard choice
