Unstable as hell, black screens when trying to go back to the main menu, half of the best homebrew applications don't work (reportedly), zero documentation (no idea how to get MoonShell, ComicBookDS and all those bonus apps working), online features (easily the selling point) not working. The alarm doesn't even play any sound and the music player doesn't play any music. The applications and games lists keep blinking, it doesn't look smooth like it's supposed to be. Game icons look horrible shrunk down, unlike in AKAIO where they all keep their native size until they are selected. There's also a weird diagonal black line that blocks the topmost game's title in part if it's long enough.
i.e. lack of polish.
Right now it's pretty horrible, compared to the stable, accessible and simple AKAIO. Sure it looks fancy, but if it runs like shit I'm not using it on a regular basis.
Considering the restrictions imposed on directory structure and such it would benefit from a PC application to set up applications automatically, but either way there's no way I'll bother reading every page of every thread about it to find out how to set up everything because it's nitpicky with what it supports.
For an OS that aims to be a "homebrew gaming OS" it certainly doesn't serve its purpose well.
Considering the amount of time it took to get it released it is certainly very disappointing, regardless of the circumstances around it, it's still not a good, or usable piece of software. It has a lot of potential that has gone to waste due to the lack of polish and such. I assume that the Wi-Fi features make it much better, but seeing as they are unavailable, I am judging it from what I can access.
I don't think this would have happened if there had been a public beta.
