That's what they all get for naming Nintendo's secret future console just a "nItEnDo SwItCh 2 lEaK" for years. You've unconsciously gave it the publicity that the Nintendo Switch 2 was literally the best marketing name choice there was

the switch sold like hot cakes, you have to go back to 2004 to find a console that sold better

It's the 3rd best selling console of all time - it sold about 10% less than the best selling console of all time (PS2, 2000) and 5% less than the 2nd best selling system of all time (DS, 2004)

It's literally the best selling console of the generation (by far)

And it's still alive, selling well, and putting out games

they'd be idiots to not capitalize on the switch name and hype by coming out with switch 2

Yeah that should've been expected to be called Switch 2, my problem is that the same people who were calling it Switch 2 in articles, "leaks" and predictions way before the announcements are now against the name because "Boohoo, creativity lost" despite they're the ones who made the general audience associate Nintendo's future console as the Switch Sequel

The PlayStation one at the very least uses an stylized typeface, all the new Switch logo has is a giant generic-looking "2" placed in an awkward position. I'm aware that the "2" is supposedly from the same font family as the rest of the logo, but the way they designed and scaled it just looks unprofessional.

Okay I found this custom one and no joke it's so smart, now I see what you mean. The 2 is too thicc and uses a cookie cutter style

This one has a stylized 2 and the logo has the S and 2 combined for simplicity and it also forms a joystick

personally I think it looks good, the switch ecosystem is more playful/joyful than PS - they couldn't go for a bare bones slim 2 like that
