...Weren't most NES players boys, though? Gaming was largely seen as a boy's thing back then, AFAIK. There were a few games aimed towards girls (such as Ms Pac-Man), but games like Ninja Gaiden were almost exclusively aimed and played by boys.

Also, I do like how the mother in the top image is wearing a dress; that's nice.
