Arachnophobia would fade in that case, not get worse.
If you cant see them, you dont know they are there, they might be already dead by now

Now you'll say "but if you feel them climbing your legs, arachnophobia would still kick in" but NO
They are still invisible, you cant know if its spiders or just your legs skin getting itchy, and anyway, even if it was spiders, scratching your leg would kill them...
