This would be exactly like the dev mindset of "I could do it manually in 10 minutes, or spend a day coding and troubleshooting a script that will do it automatically if I ever need to do this one specific thing again"... but don't those vehicles degrade and then explode after a while?

depends on what's in it. the glider and hot air balloon disappear after a couple of minuets at best. kinda funny how the optimal aircraft involves not using the intended aircraft parts. rockets aside iirc everything else lasts about half an hour...so about as long as you would realistically need it for before somehow loosing it or entering a loading zone snapping it from existence
