Sakura's image viewer uses .ipk files.
How can I create one?

As stated above (opps, now previous page), use the Sakura tools. However, you do not have to use an ipk file. If you want to you can simply use gif and jpg files. I personally like using the jpg files better than the ipk files. It's alot simpler to get into the files, you can just make folders and such as you would for ROMs. But the choice is yours.

Sakura doesn't support GIF files and IPK files can only be used with the external Image Viewer application included in the support tools. The only advantage to using the latter is thumbnails.

I'd recommend using it for a large amount of images, as it's got more features than the one built into Sakura.

Is there a third-party IPK packer? The official tool compresses my images too much for my tastes.

Opps my bad... I originally had GIF, JPG, and BMP... meant to get rid of the GIF not the BMP because I wasn't sure about the GIFs. But then again... can it even do BMPs?

As far as using the .ipk I think the thumbnails are nice... but I prefer the orientation that Sakura has built in with just images in folders. I found the external viewer to be clunky.

Does anyone know what 4GB MicroSDs M3 Sakura is compatible with? I'm pretty they had only tested it on a few mircoSDs so I don't want to buy one without knowing.
A list of a few microSDs:
A-Data Class 6 MicroSDHC 4GB
Patriot Class 6 MicroSDHC 4GB(I'm using a 2GB right now)
Kingston Class 4? 4GB
Transcend Class 6 4GB(Apparently 1GBs were given away at the event)
Sandisk of some kind?(Pretty sure the website said it was compatible)

I don't see any reason why any of those wouldn't be compatible with Sakura. I haven't heard anything about the Patriot but all of the other cards are known to work spectacularly.

True..SanDisk, Apacer and Kingstone are cards that M3 Team use to test their products, so they recommend using those cards..
Most of the other cards you mentioned are used by many GBAtemp members, and reported to work just fine..actually, M3 Real/Sakura will probably work with any microSD you try..everybody will recommend you to watch for cards made in Japan, and speed class (the higher, the better)..

Ah, okay. Thanks for the help. I saw some $20 Patriot 4GB class 6s yesterday so I was contemplating whether or not I should buy it. I didn't really want to order from Newegg ($12+$6 shipping?). I think I heard a few people here use Patriots too.

hope this is the right place to post this, I've searched everywhere for the answer

I installed m3sakura yesterday, and I'm loving it, much apreciation to the guys who translated it.

but I'm having a problem; I was transferring some files to it from my pc when it kinda froze, and now my pc says it's damaged whenever I plug the card-reader dealy in. the card still works fine on my ds though, so I ran DiskCheck and it mentions something about only being available in japanese, and to press l+r+a+b. when I do this it scans, and I get 6 options in japanese. the only english word is format, so I'm assuming this is what I'm looking for? what do the 6 options translate as?

About the M3 Real Triple Loader, when a new firmware is released for one of the three systems you're using, how do you go about updating them, whilst still keeping the triple loader in tact?

I followed every steps; however, after I set Ram or Rumble mode the screen turn black and did not reset (even i dl the SoftReset.M3DS). I can feel the rumble of my 3in1 flash card when I set Rumble to Low/Midium/High but still the screen just turn black and freeze. The DS still did not recognize the Ram/Rumble pack. Please help. Thank you.

Hi, and sorry for my english, I really I'm not very mutch able to speak English..

Today I've played for the first time with Sakura. I enjoyed very mutch the touch screen control system menù, it's really wonderful!
I've noticed just one big problem: very bad compatibility with homebrew software.
I've tryed to start homebrews like "Still Alive" (2-D Portal Clone), Protein (scratch software), and Stereo Draw; The first two freeze on startup, the third work strange (all the colors are distorted, the down screen should be black but look white!!

).

Is there any solution at the moment to fix this problems? Now, I'm going to get M3 DS Real classic firmware again, but this Sakura adventure today was very funny, and I'm afraid becouse for now i should use classic firmware, that now look very boring!

You could also just use the Triple booter thing and use the other firmware stuff to boot those homebrew...
