Before we get started, this is NOT a thread about whether or not the Switch can render games in 4K. We all know the answer is "hell no". What I want to know is if the Switch has the same 4K movie playing/streaming and 4K game streaming capabilities of the Shield TV. Both devices use the same chipset and from my understanding the only major differences is that while the Switch has an extra gig of RAM, the CPU is under clocked.
I can understand if the dock is a limiting factor, only having support for 1080p rendering.
What about directly off the USB-C connection? Is it possible to have a 4K dock released later on? Sorry if this seems like such a noob post but I don't think we ever got a "hardware authority", someone that really knows the chipset to give us a final determination.
If the system does have the same 4K abilities as the Shield TV then why the fuck isn't Nintendo using that to their advantage?! One would think that selling 4K streaming copies of first party games would be a boom for the Switch.
