Bad searching, bad categories, no 3D trailers for NA folks, the screenshots aren't in 3D (really, Nintendo?), the UI seems very clunky and inefficient, not enough content despite waiting for 3 months, and some other things I can't think of right now (i'll update if I remember).

The 3D classics seem to be cool though but I'm not that big of a fan of Excitebike.

I was so excited for this

Really? I think that it looks completely fine. Big buttons for easy access, and the search works for me.

Yeah, 3D screenshots would have been nice, but that's why we have 3D trailers. And there are probably no trailers yet because... Nintendo is too lazy to make them.

I don't personally care about the browser either, because the only things that I would search on it are just tips for games that I play. That stuff is normally text based.

its still too early to judge so harshly. gotta admit though, it is WAY better than the dsi shop. that thing was slow and cumbersome. eshop so far has been quick and easy to use

the japanese 3ds eshop has about 10 times more content as the NA one. tv shows in 3d (game center cx specials), more 3d classics, lots of 3dsware, 6 virtual console games, etc. etc.
glad i imported.

hey bro, dont you forget that it's only out yesterday/today in EU/US etc. More stuff is going to be added. Japan has more stuff, because the 3ds is there for a longer time+ it originated from there+ higher popularity spikes.

In comparison to other more mature platforms it's not that great. But to be honest I'm surprised my compatriots have even gotten it this far. I'm sure we'll see more content in the future, but I have some doubts as to whether the overall 'feel' of the store is going to change much over time. UI has always been a huge achilles heel for Japanese companies. I think it's really due to the giant 'software development by committee' mentality that I've seen over there.

I don't think it's 'bad' for an initial offering. I think if more 3rd party developers get on board with the eShop then the store will become much more relevant. If it's just Nintendo churning out stuff, then I think the store will stagnate.

It just came out.

And was delayed for three months.
So? It still new and still has plenty of updates to come, don't be so quick to judge it.

The fact that it was delayed should have been sufficient time to add way more content than this. It doesn't seem like it though even when Nintendo claims that they learned from their past mistakes with the Wii and DSi shop.

Actually they were delaying the update in whole, they weren't just working on one thing. They only delayed it so they could have one bundled update to put in the basics for future updates to come.

I'm actually super impressed with it. The searching is fast, the browsing is seamless (well, once the error messages cleared out. I haven't gotten a single one since starting it up this morning), and the information they show you is great - a description of the game, a rating, some screenshots, whether or not it's retail or downloadable, and the category feature is great. I love how you can search for "Just Mario games" - or for games that are 2 or 4 players, or that are "pick up and put down" titles. Good stuff. I can't wait to see what else they come out with.

This blows the Wii and DSi Shops out of the water - every aspect has been improved. It actually feels like an online digital service. Albeit, a lot more cozy than PSN and Live. That purse is adorable

I'm very impressed with the eShop

It's fast, easy to use and efficient.

Much faster and easier to browse than the DSi Shop

If they did that, they didn't implement all the features that were disabled from the beginning yet. 3DS system transferring is one example.
