guys its May, and nintendo said that at the end of this month there will be and update allowing us to use the shop and many other thing but most importantly it will let us gain access to the internal memory of the 3ds, wont this let us easily add homebrew to the core of the system making it easy for us to hack it dont you guys think

say what

the update will let you move content from a SD card to the internal memory and also more control over the 3ds channel
may i remind you guys how the wii softmod is done

Now I'm not a pro but if I were Nintendo I wouldn't repeat the same mistake again.

There is no Wii hack that is anything to do with copying a channel from an SD card.

If you're referring to Bannerbomb, it is very unlikely Nintendo would screw up the same way twice.

nintendo said that the update will unlock everything that is currently lock
that includes the Data Management portion of the 3ds

Who cares about BannerBomb ...

the WII 4.3 is hacked even without it ...
all they need is 1 (ONE) game
that will have an exploitable savefile ..
and thats that ...

BannerBomb was great because it didnt need a game ..
but there are still games like SSBB and the Lego Series that have exploits ...
And i am preaty sure that there will be exploits in the 3DS games aswell ..
no developer doesnt make mistakes ... some games are just better protected ...

the update may or may not make it more or less possible to hack but you can guarantee any progress made so far is with existing FW.
I wont be updating till there's a worthwhile reason to.

You know there will most likely be lots of protection code on the said downloads. It does however allow for more software to be added faster to the 3DS and eventually some one will mess up and leave a exploit for us to find. I am hoping for signed homebrew like what they did to the PSP.

Seriously... let the hackers do the figuring out or let's all forget about hacking the 3DS and maybe one day a saviour will come and finally crack it.

hackers can hack the 3DS because i dont have it
biggrin.gif

but for ps3 different story

You sure about that?

It's possible it'll make it easier. The internet browser is being released. You never know what will have exploitable code.

And also, it's pretty unlikely (though not impossible) that the update will make hacking harder. Unless they found some exploits and fixed them on their own, it should be a pure content release, not a security release. It probably will allow access to data management I'd think. But I guess we'll just wait and see. I'll be reading up on vulnerability testing hardware to see if there's anything I can do when the 3DS gets unlocked. (probably not, but you never know ^^)
