Hacking Text Readers

I've tried afew ds homebrew text readers, namely Moonshell, DsOrganize, DSreader, qdsed, but i realise they have common problems..

Am i missing something? Like some setting or minor text file edits before i move them onto the cart?
I tried the same file on all the readers, the " ' and some other symbols dont show up correctly.. or they appear as some weird chinese or japanese characters.. Help?

Try opening the file up with Wordpad or Notepad and saving it with a different encoding, like ASCII or something.

I think UNICODE is the one you need, but create some test files and see it for yourself

Also, some fonts in some programs will simply not be able to "read" the written accents and a lot of other symbols.
