I'm doing a temporary hard mod (routing the wires through the side of the case, but because it's not completely closed the battery is lose and I have to put pressure on the case for it to connect and it's still kind of finicky, is there a way to hold the battery in place while doing the dump? I'd rather not open the 3DSXL again if I can avoid it.

if you can solder, solder the battery on using wires , then remove and suck the solder off

also this should be in Hardware section as it has nothing to do with CFW or flashcarts

Shooore, I did over 4 reads in a row without the battery disconnecting on an old XL, with the bottom case not even in:

one piece of black, stretchy electrical tape pulling the battery from its bottom against the connector
another one between card slot, battery, and bottom edge of board to hold it still in the sideways-from-connector direction
another one diagonally to hold the other 2 in place
