I see. Could you tell me how to run the mlc check? or point me to a readme file? I'm sure I did it incorrectly by loading the recovery file you provided on the sd card (same as I did the original dump)
You start it the same way as the original recovery. Extract the zip, put it on the SD and make shure it is named recovery_menu. If you start it via UDPIH it should offer you the option MLC Check

Do you think it is possible to restore the mlc? too bad I didn't have a clean dump of it before it became corrupted by the previous owner. I have been doing some reading about possibly restoring the mlc with the slc/cache but this is probably beyond the scope of what I can do. I see what you are talking about with these errors. I'm impressed, you must be one hell of a coder to be able to pick up on that. Honestly it all looks like heiroglyphics to me Lol
I am confident we can get this Wii U back to working order. The problem with these broken folders is just that they will use up space and could cause trouble if you would every attempt to do a factory reset.
The format of the logfile is pretty simple. It is just a CSV with 3 columns seperated by ';'. The first one is the operation, the second the path and the third the result. What the result means can be found here: https://github.com/devkitPro/wut/bl...3a73be29cd1/include/coreinit/filesystem.h#L94 I didn't invent anything new here, the heavy lifting was already done by others.
To fix the Wii U, you would have to clone the current state of the mlc to an SD Card and then replace the bad eMMC with that. Then we can replace the broken files, which isn't a big deal. Doing the SD replacement will become easier once Voultar releases his QSB for that. But if you are good with the soldering iron you can also do it without the QSB. It's 6 very small solder joints and then a few bigger ones. You won't need hot air for that

Thanks SDIO, I will get read the thread you linked. I will try to learn as much as possible so I will understand better. I understand all of this has been a community effort- don't under estimate how much you've helped though. I appreciate your kindness and will try to help anyone else if I can. I assume the SD replacement is the only option since these emmc packages are scarce and would require additional equipment to program.
