No, it was the first M3-CF that was based on the GBAMP2.

Both were based on the GBAMP ... SuperCard and M3 Perfect are two devices similar to GBA Movie Player but with more features. M3 is made by the makers of GBAMP. Both contain a CompactFlash, Secure Digital, miniSD, or Transflash slot as well as 32 MB of built-in RAM. They offer all of the GBAMP's features, plus the abilities to play GBA games and homebrew by using the built-in RAM as a mock flash cartridge, and DS backups using sequential reading. It is a close little world don't forget everything started with reversing the GBA & NDS code

TC is not riping SC code they are working on emulating read only registers for better compatibility... they deliver good and original code IMAO.

"Integrity check failure" solution
There are currently a few games which, through some unfortunate circumstances, will corrupt the CycloDS Evolution firmware if these games are executed with the current firmware release. This issue has been fixed in the development build and a new release is scheduled to be out in a few days now (though much later than we originally anticipated ) In the meantime, following is an interim solution for anybody who is stuck with a unit which no longer boots:

- Download this patched updater for the v1.22 firmware. The updater simply contains the original 1.22 firmware build, however is patched to fix the "Self tests failed" error which you may encounter if your firmware has been corrupted with the "MTV Fan Attack" game
- Copy 'update.evo' onto your MicroSD card
- Boot CycloDS Evolution. You will be presented with an error saying "Integrity check failure". Press A to load the updater from your MicroSD card
- Follow the onscreen directions and your CycloDS Evolution will be updated as usual
- DONT USE the offending games again until such time as the new firmware build has been released - otherwise you'll need to repeat this procedure!

Currently, the following games are known to corrupt the CycloDS firmware:

- MTV Fan Attack
- Arkanoid
- Tales of Innocence
