Hacking Tatsunoko vs. Capcom music hack

Sorry to bother you with this question:

Now you are going to release a patch with several changes since the first pack you released (The one that I have) The question is : Is this new pack only a change of music files or is it intended to correct fuzziness (In my case I didn't pay to much attention to the fuzziness because is not that bad)

I had to change some files around since some files were fuzzy. I'm uploading it right now and I'm working on a new tutorial so wait about an hour to get the most recent pack. It's really good! I'm also updating on how to switch the intro since I recently figured that out.

Movie tutorial finished. New music pack upload (Likely the final one). And a reminder that I am here to help!

As a side note, I would like to thank TyRaNtM for testing and helping me choose the music for the stages. I also want to thank the creators of the programs I used to make this possible. This is an excellent game and one I look forward to see being hacked very soon (Hopefully restored to its original Japanese greatness).

I haven't tried it yet because I'm at work but just in case

In this part about replacing the intro

Go into the folder thp and select "us".
2. Inside that folder, copy the file named "1001" to an external folder seperate from the iso files.
3. Rename and replace it with every file in the folder. For example, rename it "0501" and then replace it with that file in the folder.

This "THP Folder" means the folder thp in the original NTSC iso?

and I have to replace it with the file from the original jap Iso?

or a file inside the download pack?

Sorry for this silly question but it is not easy to read this and work at the same time

Yes.

No.

No again, you use the one inside of the folder "thp" and replicate it with the names of the other thp file. So it will be the same file, just replicated 6 times. The game randomly chooses a video you've unlocked to play as the intro so it's neccassary to make all of the movie files the same. The Japanese intro is already contained in the iso, so I thought I shouldn't make anyone bother re-downloading it.

How to replace music (Pre-determinded pack)
Things needed:

Wii scrubber
Partion builder
Watch this video. The file is in the description.
The NTSC iso (Not the disc) of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars
step1q.png

First, right click on the partition in wii scrubber after loading the Iso. Selected unencrypted and then extract.

step2l.jpg

Make sure that they're in a folder with nothing in it. It will look like this.

step3ur.png

Click on snd and you will see this.

step4h.png

Then after clicking on stream you will see this.

Replace this folder with the one in the RAR you downloaded.

step5.png

Extract the files (By right clicking on them and selecting extract) in the pic below:
step6c.png

Optional; Replace the intro movie.

Do you want the Japanese opening to play everytime you boot up the game and make your iso smaller? Then read this. If not skip down to the next step where the italics end.

Warning! This removes the American intro from your game. Backup the movie folder to be safe, or better yet have a backup clean iso.

1. Go into the folder thp and select "us".
2. Inside that folder, copy the file named "1001" to an external folder seperate from the iso files.
3. Rename and replace it with every file in the folder. For example, rename it "0501" and then replace it with that file in the folder. After you've finished they should all be the exact same size (135,127 kb).
4. Continue to the next step

step7w.png

In partition builder, put the files in the appropriate slot. Wait for it to finish, the open the iso in wii scrubber and right click on the partition. Go to unencrypted, but this time select "load". Choose the partiton YOU DID NOT RENAME and it will load into the iso. Play it on your medium of choice then viola! You're done!

i got a question about the step process of replaceing the music. i did everything up to where it says Extract the files (By right clicking on them and selecting extract) in the pic below:
step6c.png

i don't know what to do about that step.. and how does it put the music in the iso? i'm kinda of confused of what to do?

so u cant have the jap intro as a permanent intro?
I never said you can't. If you follow my instructions then you won't have the American intro.

You right click on the files from this pic

And you extract them to a seperate folder on your comp. You'll use them in the next step for partition builder.

Note: Only extract the Partition.bin, the apploader.img, the boot.bin, the bi2.bin, and the main.dol.

So basically what you are doing is switching out information from one iso to another right? or are you using .mp3s to bring the songs over? Basically, what I am asking is does this allow custom songs?

Not yet, but I hope that someone will code a .sdd compiler so there can be custom music. This simply replaces the mostly bad soundtrack in the original with music from the series represented in this game. It's basicly just a quick fix for those who want it.

Edit: If you get this to work (Anyone) post about it so those that have yet to do it are reassured.

WOOOORRRRKSSSS! Thank you Tonitonichopchop and TyRaNtM for doing this. Love the JP opening. But as posted before, some of the music (menu, character select, some stages (Soki?)) is a bit fuzzy. Overall, it's perfect and the way I would play the game.

We tried to work out as many problems as possible, but there is occasionally fuziness. The only one I don't like is Roll's theme in the mall. I might release a new pack with a different song.

This is strange

In the intro part I extracted the 1001.thp file and rename it to any other of the other files names and replaced each correspondant file.

For example renamed 1001.thp to 0500.thp and then replaced in wiiscrubber the original 0500.thp with the fake 0500.thp and the same with the other files except the original 1001.thp because that would be nonsensense as it is the same file.

The case is I continued having the american intro after the game boots. Just in case I'm using the first pack you posted about a week ago and I have unlocked the jap intro (after beating the game about 25 times now). I don't know if it have something to do with it..

I was wondering, is 1001.thp the jap intro?

can you a vid with jap into in the usa release please? and any other stages maybe?

Like I said beofore, I don't have a capture device. If anyone owns a capture device and wants to upload a video then go right ahead, just give me and Tyrantm credit.

I do have a crappy handheld camera, but it looks so bad that it almost isn't worth the time to upload. I would rather have someone with a good recording posting a video instead of me. The Japanese intro does, so you'll see "Cross Generation of Heroes" instead of "Ultimate All Stars".
