I just turned it off, turned on the wii u and went to vwii, back to wii u menu, and the update screen didn't show up.

make sure you block the ip, then you wont have to worry about it anymore

you don't have to block the ip it won't show up anymore since it's downloaded itself on to the console that's what preparing means. it wont update now until you click check update manually OR try to use the web browser.

that's the url, some routers seem to have difficulties with this url, then you can just ping the url and enter the IP, that you get from that

I have blocked this url (nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net), but, the upgrade download (5.0.0), continue...

Im still on 4.0.2 due to the blocked url, working just fine for me and everyone else, who tried it
like I said, some routers may have issues, then ping the url and enter the ip
