Despite all of this you can always restore your system as long as you can get HBC up and running. This since the latest version of DOP-Mii can trash any IOS, mothballed or not, and just reinstall the wanted one using IOS58 + AHBPROT. This can NEVER BE BLOCKED as long as you get into the latest version of HBC.

Exactly, this can't be stressed enough. Also as long as you can install BootMii IOS, you can always use cBoot2 to get patched IOS.

Hmm i think the WiiBrew-Edition of DOP-Mii can't install patched IOS directly, but there are app that do it directly using AHBPROT.

pimp my wii can install whatever you want with ahbprot

Is there a way to update the shop channel now? I need to use it :S

Same here. I got 4000 points today, only to find the update. I just did the update, and all it seems to do is provide the updated versions of the channels that comes with the update within Metroid: Other M. Homebrew Channel remains unscathed.
It must do a little more than that. I can't access the shop channel as it wants to update but I installed the METROID: Other M updates from disc.

Am I reading the previous posts corrcetly that it removes TBR but keeps the HBC?

So.. Anyone know which ios 56 version must be used in order to access Wii Shop channel?

*Please... not a stub ios*

I think it must be the latest ios56 version (v5662), im not 100% but will reply back on whether shopping channel v20 will run with my current version of ios56 (v5661)

I first need to find the wad for shopping channel first though

Wow we don't even need the Korean IOSes anymore.
I guess I'll manually stub them to save some NAND space.

You know you can always get the latest version with NUSD? Even if it's not in the list, yet.

They Didn't even bother changing the firmware number. I think that's smart because they'll be at firmware 10.0 before they ever stop us.

Yes, this IOS. If you update your shopping channel without adding it, the channel will start with a #002 error.

EDIT: And NUSD has it, just choose lastest version.

EDIT2: Although TBR is useless now, Can IOS236 be installed?

Nintendo:

I don't even.
If exploits in the shop channel are found people might be able to steal from it... so it's updated and updates are required to view it to make sure people aren't exploiting it to steal from it.
