For those not aware, GoG.com started their Summer Sale yesterday, offering discounts on various DRM-free games. And today, GoG.com is offering classic sci-fi RPG game System Shock 2 for free...but there's a catch. In order to claim the game, you must install GoG's own digital distribution client GoG Galaxy in order to help "Stress Test the client." Once installed, simply find the "Claim Code" button on the Store page to get your free copy of System Shock 2.

Of course, this is a small price to pay for one of the great classics, and those PC gamers who prefer DRM free games will surely want GoG Galaxy to help keep track and purchase all those great DRM-free games offered by GoG.

oh brother...I had to manually have it installed. I claimed it in the store and then had to go into library to install.

I went ahead and installed it since I used the GOG connect thing a week ago. It only picked up a few indie games but it's a nice gesture I suppose.

I just got System Shock 2 a few moments ago through GOG Galaxy. There are also other free games that you can redeem using your XP.
