Ironmask you talking to me?

I have installed all the other ones and so far my backups do work (Except Okami but I think that may be NTSC - I'm PAL)

I'm only asking to see if I'm going to find any problems in the future as these IOS's haven't been patched to the CIOS versions.

They all installed fine for me - It's up to you if you need them - certain games will require the use of those IOS's im sure.

I hope this helps.

Try redownloading the pack again and reinstall again through wad manager.

Menu Loader 0.5 by Team Twiizers, you have to manually set it to region free when it loads up which is a bit annoying but i suppose someone could change it it?
Really wish i could test but i would have to download a NTSC game.
Well i do have 2 NTSC games Guitar hero world tour and Destroy all Humans and regionfrii says they are NTSC but they load anyway im confused about that?

Sweet...

@Maximillion can you try the menu loader clone by Raven?? It's on WiiBrew...

If so maybe we can get the source to one patch it so it autoloads like they do with Gamma and we are set....???? This definately needs to be looked into....and we need an ntsc preloader version released! Where art thou Crediar with your next preloader?

False Information Report.....

I said a few messages back that since I changed my System Menu back from IOS249 to IOS30 that Rebooter stoped working for me.

That report was operator error. I had forgotten that you have to have a disc in the drive when you run it. So I've restested and the results are...

1: Rebooter from Gamma works with CIOSCORP

2: GeckoOS 1.7b rebooter works with CIOSCORP

3. Menu Patcher does not work with CIOSCORP

Sorry to have meslead anyone.

Secondly.....

Does the fact that Out of Region games do no autoboot from recovery mode and In Region games do help any towards solving this problem.

And since we know GeckoOS works with CIOSCORP, would be nice if preloader could load geckoOS1.7b off SD that defaults to rebooter.

That actually sounds kinda easy for somebody with the skill set.

BTW, I just went through Hell for 2 minutes. I changed my System Menu to IOS249 and Back to do a test. It takes about 1 minute to flash the System Menu. Those we two very long minutes. I think I'll go buy a cheap battery backup just for Wii hacking. I haven't lonst power at my house in months, and I just knew it was gonna happen during those two minutes..... Whooooo.... what a relief.

Regarding this stuff about region free, isn't starfall's region free options enough?

So basically you should be able install starfall in this setup...

And by the way ios has nothing to do with the region check of the games, it's all handled by system menu... what those region free patches doing is just changing a single branch instruction (to fail code) to nop and continue... So it's a matter of changing just 4 bytes if you ever need to do that without using starfall...

One thing bothers me though, why do you people care about this when you *can* launch your games in a dozen different ways? It's much of a problem for the under average joe actually being reluctant to use a specific channel or something else to boot his stuff...

I think for alot of people its the fact that this is a way to get mod-chip like functionality without a mod chip. We are three things away from having mod chips obsolete. 6x speed (which for most is a non issue) region free disc loading, and GC loading.

Dam I used the wrong one, no the raven one doesnt work only the menuloader 0.5 by Team Twiizers

There is a way of using preloader on a ntsc wii i read it earlier mabye you could go through that.

Maximillion is definately onto something here....

Can somebody take wadder and make this into a channel...
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Menu_Loader

Will make testing much easier if it's a channel and don't have to naviagate homebrew channel.

EDIT: Never Mind, somebody already did. I'll load it up to play with.

Believe me, that backup launcher... actually gecko os already has much more functions then a pure modchip solution... what you are doing now is just reverting to the roots while modded ones starting to use the software aid...

I don't think it's hell of a problem to use extra stuff to boot the games... pursuing this I guess will cause many bricks... installing a system menu should not be a everyday task...

Dammit I just read this on the menu loader 0.5 page
To use the 'Region Free' setting, be sure to set IOS to IOS30.

Tried that then it doesnt start, it just restarts =(

I would try uninstalling starfall but I need to get rid of the preloader before i can do that, but i need an original System Menu for pal before i can do that and I dont have one.
Also I havent go to much time im off out soon

Those installing a system menu are either brave or stupid. It isnt needed to get the disc loading functions. Anyone installing preloader is getting what they deserve as it was never intended for public use, it was a proof of concept released to the wiidev channel for testing by experienced coders who have means to recover their systems from fuck ups, and a way to show that twiizers weren't the only ones who can play with boot code. The fact that bootmii hasn't been released yet shows just how dangerous this stuff is, they said they wouldn't release till they were confident there wouldn't be bricks caused by it. I agree that its no problem using extra stuff to boot games, but people want what they want, and will take the risks to get it, so i say let em. I personally like being able to have my mom just stick her 3d pinball or I spy backup into the system and have it come up... prevents me having to explain to her how and what the loaders do and what settings if any she may need to set. Also prevents the "Well why can i play it like the original?" questions. explaining technical things to the non technical is not my idea of a fun way to spend an hour.

The reason I want the region free options is I have a lot of games which I never logged as pal or ntsc and its a pain in the ass everytime i put one in checking if it runs or not as all of the banners and shit show up the games just dont all run.

Heres hoping still.

Starfall can't act... it's just a collection of patches... you can accomplish the same thing by patching the system menu dol out of it's package (wad) and installing that... The guy who brought korean wii support to the anyregion changer already did that...
