I'm thinking about upgrading my system. I've currently got a ryzen 1500x from when they first released, 2 graphic cards(xfx radeon 560 and a r9 390 that I dont use anymore), 8 gb ddr 4. I'm looking to upgrade but was just thinking of doing the processor and mobo. But everything i do this system has been great for it. Do you guys think it will be worth it to upgrade or keep it for a bit longer?

If your still able to do everything you want on it the whats the point, afterall next year the prices will have dropped and the year after new cpus will have been released

I say keep it for a little bit if it does everything you want satisfactorily.
The best upgrade for you would be when AMD releases Ryzen 3000 refresh (probably called Ryzen 4000) and when they release the new version of the current 5700XT (which could possibly be called 6700XT). Both of these should release late next year. If you can wait, it'd be worth upgrading your CPU+Mobo+GPU+ram.

If your system can handle everything you throw at it, there's no reason at all to upgrade. A RAM upgrade would benefit having multiple applications open with how bloated web browsers are getting these days though.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
