Hello,

i am an totaly noob for this one

for what i need an sd card ?
saves games? like wii u games on it?

wanna buy then 128gb samsung or sandisk when i save games on it ^^

i hope u dont hate me and give me a short quick answer

You need an SD to hold the game roms, SX SO and any homebrew files you want

You need to put backup games on your sd card, and SX OS should be on your sd card too.

There's not much storage room on the switch, being it lacks a hard drive, so you have to put all your stuff on SD, from xci files (roms) to payloads to run homebrew (including emulators and roms/isos for those) to the licence files and SXOS software,

Do you HAVE to put the backups on a SD card for SX OS to be able to play them, or is it optional just for extra storage space? Like can you also copy the backups to the Switch internal hard drive and boot them from there?

you have to put them on the sd, there is no way to access the internal storage.
If you're using DevMenu to install the titles to your switch: you can decide if you want to install them to system memory or SD card, the .nsp installer can be removed from the sd card after installation.

ok thank you for the quick response! all I have is an 8GB SD card, but since a lot of Switch games are larger than that, I'll have to buy a new SD card.

Also SX OS requires an SD card. For both the OS and the license. Cant do anything with SX OS without SD card
